Crying my way through Don McLean's The Grave and wondered what songs make you absolutely sob?
No particular emotional connection to the song either other than it was on a CD when I was younger, but the other songs on the album don't make me cry - it's just a genuinely heartbreaking song

The loneliest by maneskin.

Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. Wells me up every time. Also Richard Marx Hazard. When you know the story it's based on and really listen to the lyrics you'd have to have a heart of stone to not cry😅

Run by Snow Patrol. Heard it a couple of days after DH died and really sobbed.

I always thought it was quite a fun little song, until I was sitting in my car and it came on and I listened to the lyrics.

The last verse makes me think of my Mom when my Dad died.

I can't listen to it at all now 😓

Hot Chocolate’s “Emma”. It has the bleakest of lyrics and Peter Hook has been open about how he pinched its riff for New Order’s “Thieves Like Us”.

And then I Can’t Make You Love Me by George Michael pulls at my heart strings. ❤️
