Saddest songs?

Crying my way through Don McLean's The Grave and wondered what songs make you absolutely sob?
No particular emotional connection to the song either other than it was on a CD when I was younger, but the other songs on the album don't make me cry - it's just a genuinely heartbreaking song

There's an old song called "honey" about a man and his wife and he tells the story of how she planted a tree in their garden and died before she hit to see it fully grown. So sad

Chicken Wire by the Pernice Brothers is possibly the most depressing 4 minutes ever committed to music…enjoy:

I agree with lots of the songs already mentioned, especially Slipping through my Fingers, it plays in my head on a loop every year on the first day back to school as I watch DD walk away from the house.😥
Also Phil Collins, You're in My Heart from tarzan, always makes me well up.
Finally the one I've linked below. Makes me think of FIL who died just after DH and I married and has been missed on so many special occasions.

Einaudi Waves. I chose it for both my dearest Aunties funerals and my best friends funeral too. I want it for my funeral too.

He stopped loving her today by George Jones. Desperately sad song about a man who never stops loving a woman until the day he kills himself. It makes me cry.

See the tree how big it's grown, man it doesn't seem so long, it was a twig.

I love that song.

Carry that Weight by the Beatles was heartbreaking to me when my nephew lost someone irreplaceable.

Now and Then - The Beatles.

Along with the video (Peter Jackson) it reminds me that we are all aging, we lose and miss people including our younger selves.

I always get a little choked as the (young) Beatles take a bow and fade away.
