Just curious. Someone said mine means I must be really fit but I'm not as active as I'd like to be.

Mine is normally between 59 and 64bpm at rest and I'm nowhere near as fit as I want to be. I'm currently trying to lose around 2/3 stone.

USaYwHatNow · 06/09/2024 21:28

Outside of pregnancy about 59-60bpm. BMI 29, walk and swim occasionally, could eat a bit better probably. However can 'turn it on' fitness wise when I need to (for example completed a 50 mile bike ride with no training recently) so must have some level of fitness underneath 🤣

Currently 20 weeks pregnant so resting HR slightly higher.

xyz111 · 06/09/2024 21:28

59 according to my Apple Watch! Some people have naturally low RHR

theaggies · 06/09/2024 21:29

Average for me tends to be between 61 and 68

LaPalmaLlama · 06/09/2024 21:30

About 42 which is low but my dad also has a v low heart rate so it’s at least partially genetic. I’m reasonably fit but not an elite athlete!

Ferne88 · 06/09/2024 21:30

average over last 7 days is 57 according to Garmin watch.
I am 42 and I exercise regularly

IsometimeswonderwhoIam · 06/09/2024 21:31

Under 60 and I've a low blood pressure - statistics of an athlete apparently but sadly not the body 🙈

dementedpixie · 06/09/2024 21:31

51 according to my Samsung watch. I do go to exercise classes but I am fat and am age 50.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 06/09/2024 21:31

About 70.

TheDandyLion · 06/09/2024 21:32

Av 54 so says my watch.

mummyof2boys30 · 06/09/2024 21:33

Mine is 54. Exericse classes daily during week, then walk sat & sunday

Devilsmommy · 06/09/2024 21:33

80 but I've got overactive thyroid so that causes it to be faster

Cynic17 · 06/09/2024 21:33

I have absolutely no idea - why on earth would I need to know? Is this just something for the "worried well"?

Justanothergeneric · 06/09/2024 21:34

Low pulse rate in a not massively fit person can be a symptom of low thyroid. Something to consider?

Bodeganights · 06/09/2024 21:36

70, nobody seems interested after they've taken my super low blood pressure.
Lowest this year 69/58.

I suppose for the same reasons you'd want to know your weight. You'd probably realise if it was remarkably high or low, but it's not a bad idea to monitor it. And smart watches do that for you, so it's not like it takes any effort.

Redcrayons · 06/09/2024 21:43

Mid to high 40s. Take on my smart watch so maybe not 100% accurate.

I’m quite active.

GreenSedan · 06/09/2024 21:44

Low 40s and that's with me taking medication for hyperthyroidism.

Pigeonqueen · 06/09/2024 21:46

High 80s. I do have a lot of autoimmune issues including lupus. I’ve had a lot of heart scans / tests etc because of medication I’ve had before and they’ve all been fine. I just seem to run fast….!

upat4am · 06/09/2024 21:47

Mine is about 70. Mid 30s, don't exercise as much as I should but not fat.

It is high, and was very high when pregnant, but my sisters also have high RHR so I think genetic.

larkstar · 06/09/2024 21:48

Resting 52-62 normally.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 06/09/2024 21:49

44 this week which is sadly almost the same as my BMI. I do exercise, and I do notice that it is lower when I am fitter, but I am definitely not an athlete. I don't have a thyroid but my thyroxine levels are well controlled, I think it's just genetic like someone else said.

70 is very normal, I wouldn't be worried about that at all.

CabbagesAndCeilingWax · 06/09/2024 21:50

Never thought I'd see competitively low heart rates, even on MN. New levels of bonkers 🤣🤣
