Just curious. Someone said mine means I must be really fit but I'm not as active as I'd like to be.

Mischance · 06/09/2024 21:51

Down in the 40s - but I am on drugs after a heart attack.

CabbagesAndCeilingWax · 06/09/2024 21:53

Dare we hope that this means that we've finally given up on competitive under-eating, cleaning, laundry, meals from one chicken, and "week's shopping for a family of four PLUS CAT for under a fiver"....?

UmopapIsdn · 06/09/2024 21:54

110

I've recently been to the GP so hopefully it won’t be this high for too much longer 😬

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/09/2024 21:57

61-68 over the past 30 days according to my watch. I’m reasonably fit and walk about 15k steps a day.

MrsPadhd · 06/09/2024 22:05

Just looked at my Fitbit app and mine ranges from 71-77 resting over the last month.

I feel slightly worried after just flicking through these and seeing how low they are. I am overweight though.

poptake · 06/09/2024 22:09

56 this last year which I thought was uncommon but seems not looking at this thread!

brooksghost · 06/09/2024 22:09

40-42
Max is 192, so I have a good range.
I am super fit though.

Mabelthebore · 06/09/2024 22:11

60-100 is within the normal range. Below this might be normal if you are super athletic but best get it checked if out of this range as there are medical issues which could cause it to be low or high.

PaillettenBedeckt · 06/09/2024 22:11

My Fitbit tells me my average is 74 this year. It's roughly the same for the last six years.

I don't have weight to lose. I'm currently at a BMI of 19. I don't exercise any more because I am too unwell, unfortunately. I used to love it.

Mine is about 70. Mid 30s, don't exercise as much as I should but not fat.

It is high, and was very high when pregnant, but my sisters also have high RHR so I think genetic.

70 isn't high, it's normal. It might be high on this thread, but not in reality.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 06/09/2024 22:13

54bpm

What is your resting heart rate?
brooksghost · 06/09/2024 22:13

For the person asking why you'd want to know...
I monitor mine daily, if it increases by 5+ beats I know I'm either coming down with something, slightly run down or need an easy day of training.
Most of my training is based around heart rate zones, so I have to know my numbers!

AutumnComing2 · 06/09/2024 22:14

Garmin has it at 47-55 average I’m reasonably fit, exercise daily and it’s generic with low BP as my mid-80s dad is the same. Still been overweight bmi all my life though.

frockandcrocs · 06/09/2024 22:15

59 currently, not as fit as I'd like and need to loose 2-3 stone.
3yrs ago was much fitter, 3stone lighter and it was 48.

I find it super interesting how it changes when I'm unwell or over exerting.

ln1981 · 06/09/2024 22:18

Usually low-mid 40’s, but has dropped overnight to around 35/36 on occasion (I have my Apple Watch set to trigger an alarm if it drops for more than 10minutes). I’m reasonably fit though-run 4/5 times a week as well as doing weight training.

Blinky21 · 06/09/2024 22:18

It can be 90 or higher but I'm not unfit or unwell and don't have any diagnosed conditions, had investigations and no cause has ever been found, new doctors react with horror every time they take it

poptake · 06/09/2024 22:23

Yes me too, if I'm feeling a bit warm or headachy I check my watch and if it's 70+ I know I'm fighting something. Remember it ran into the 90s when I had my covid jab even though I felt fine which was interesting.

rookiemere · 06/09/2024 22:24

Mine hovers around 60-63.
I'm a few pounds over BMI range, but do a reasonable amount of walking because of the dog, weekly parkrun and a couple of other jogs and a weekly exercise class.

Bookish123 · 06/09/2024 22:25

42 to 45. Which I believe is very low. I had no idea until I was admitted to hospital last Sunday. I walk a lot but not very fit, easily do 15k steps a day but nothing else. BMI 25. Eat a very healthy vegetarian diet.

Apparently I have heart damage! I'm 48. Quite a wake up call

loropianalover · 06/09/2024 22:27

Mines usually hovering around 70.

AuntieStella · 06/09/2024 22:30

Daytime calm about 65
Fully rested about 49

(Distance runner - not worried about it being so low as it rises appropriately whilst running and falls back in a reasonable time)

mcmooberry · 06/09/2024 22:30

54-58

SantoriniSunrise · 06/09/2024 22:31

70 - I'm 54 and asthmatic, controlled with steroid inhalers and have fairly frequent chest infections, so not the healthiest.

Also fwiw, I'm 5 foot 1 and slim all over, but have a massive stomach.

LuluBlakey1 · 06/09/2024 22:32

53 according to my Fitbit.
I did go to see GP recently because overnight it drops to 40 on occasions. He said that is normal.

Plotatoes · 06/09/2024 22:34

CabbagesAndCeilingWax · 06/09/2024 21:50

Never thought I'd see competitively low heart rates, even on MN. New levels of bonkers 🤣🤣

Yep! Either this thread has attracted statistical outliers and extremely fit people or smart watches are misreading people's heart rates. There's no way most middle aged women, many of whom say they're a bit overweight, have a resting heart rate of around 50.
