morrisons is the best supermarket

Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

Ours was recently renovated yet -
the cafe is always dirty, many shelves empty, the food in the cafe is just freezer food, the 'garden centre' (separate little building) has plant pots and no plants, the plants they do have in another part are dead as not watered or not placed in the right place, everything is more expensive, they never give me my £5 voucher when I have the right amount of points, and half of the school mums work there, busy being more aloof than the other.

That said, I remember when on holiday I went to quite a nice Morrisons, which was different and somewhat authentic to the area with food I don't normally see in our local shops- not sure if it was in the Lake District or Scotland...

But that would be the case with other supermarkets too. Lidl in fuVarajen, Croatia for example was a gorgeous experience with amazing fresh food choices, very clean, no queues, and so affordable. Op would be amazed.

Morrisons us too expensive, don't stock things I like. I'd rather shop in Tescos or LIDL.
Are Morrisons paying you per comment OP?

No lol. Just a huge fan. I wouldn't take their money.

Yes you can't deny the quality difference, waitrose is a 2 morrisons is a 200.

Do you have shares in Morrisons or something? 😂

I Can't comment on their voucher system as I haven't used it. But only uk experiences please as they don't have a presence outside of GB

Our local Morrisons smells like when you're abroad on holiday and you decide to go to the local supermarket and get some water and snacks for the hotel room and you walk in and it smells different. Not bad, just... different to the supermarkets at home and it does your head in a little bit and is part of the holiday experience. Like that.

It's cheaper than asda and Tesco. People second guess it's expensive just because they see glistening fresh produce and sophisticated packaging/marketing

No, it's not.

I wonder why OP thinks Morrisons is buying their groceries, getting their cereal made, purchasing cheese from some magical place the other supermarkets are.

HowardTJMoon · 06/09/2024 21:42

The last time I was in a Morrisons they didn't have scan-and-go. What they did have were, without question, the absolute worst self-service tills I've ever used. Even worse than Asda.

No, you tell your opinion.

Nothing wrong with Morrisons, but they're not the best id say.

As, opposed to you and your say so ... 😂😂😂

Yirk · 06/09/2024 21:45

Our Morrisons is ok, its local and usually well stocked, right up the shelves at about 7 foot!!
When did this become a thing? I'm constantly asking somebody to kindly reach me some milk etc!!
Our Morrisons cafe is a disgrace, its dirty, understaffed and the food is yuk.

Not recognising I'd put the item I'd just scanned into the bag. Over and over and over again. And this wasn't just a one-off bad till. It happened every time. I don't know if they were just badly designed, or poorly maintained, or what - they were utterly shite.

When I stay at my mother in laws I get quite excited that her nearest shop is a Londis.
They sell cheap snacks sold under the "Bobby's" name and other products from the "Euro Shopper" brand which is even cheaper.

What I believed happened is you put the basket on the wrong side and then ended up putting your items not in the bagging area causing the system to bug out. Not morrisons fault. I'm sure one of their lovely staff came to save the day.

geminiflanagan · 06/09/2024 21:47

Their delivery is awful. I don't mind going in person, but the last delivery we had included 9 missing items and 4 useless subs.

I honestly do not believe that there were no cheese, no butter, no bread, no apples and no ready salted crisps, but evidently the entire store was wiped out of all variations. It pisses me off that I pay for the delivery and then end up having to make a trip out anyway.

Their drivers are brilliant, but their pickers are crap.

HowardTJMoon · 06/09/2024 21:47

Morrisons did do a very nice crunchy yoghurt coleslaw. Second only to the amazing, but sadly short-lived, honey sriracha coleslaw Tesco had this summer.

finaGotpaid · 06/09/2024 21:47

Are you the same OP who was asking about catering for 15 ,a few days ago and had never shopped in a Supermarket before?!

0BonneMaman0 · 06/09/2024 21:48

Nope.
I do like their fish counter though.

Are you sure it was morrisons cafe you visited. It's not unusual for a supermarket to have a independant cafe nearby its premises
