Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

I find it expensive

'The person is deluded who criticised their cheese, it's nicer than any farm shop I've ever brought cheese from'.
I think deluded is a bit harsh 😁. I did say it was a few years back. They used to do this awful thing where the mediocre quality factory cheeses were all in different coloured wax to pretend they were worth the extra they charged and the continental cheese selection was poor. If it's changed I'm happy to take a look!

Sorry. You know cheese js suppose to have a strong flavour right? Maybe you don't like cheese?

I liked Morrisons when the veggie section was misted, that was cool. They don't do that anymore though.

Can't think of much they do that's better than anywhere else. The cafe is good for a cheap full English. Fish is good. The staff at ours are efficient and friendly, and have always been for years. Bread isn't very good. Avoid salad bar as it's probably full of the coughs and sneezes of others.

I like Aldi for basics and Sainsbury's for stuff I can't get there. If I want to get the best produce, I go to Booths.

I'm sorry but I brought a pie from sainsurys and they hadn't mixed it properly it was pretty much a wine pie

Morrisons does have the best cafe, but Tesco and Asda do more competitions

It's not for everyone. They do their best to keep their prices affordable and are the second cheapest supermarket at 10x the quality

Throwing🔧in the works but I prefer ocado.......no stupid substitutes and price matched with tesco, on rare occasion my shop cheaper at tesco they send a voucher for the difference..........and all the delivery people are lovely!!🤩

Adding a comment just to placemark as this thread is bonkers 😜
FWIW - my parents bloody love Morrisons and will not shop anywhere else, despite our local one being, expensive, dirty, run down and the best place to get your car scratched/nicked. The cafe is a health hazard and the service at the pharmacy is non existent (always able to get a paper and a 20 deck from the kiosk though - they know their customer!)
Really hope OP is not an employee reacting to the latest dismal headlines as that would be #awkward

Rory17384949 · 06/09/2024 21:23

Not in my town. Ours is a bit shabby and full of students, and awkward to drive to for me

kitsuneghost · 06/09/2024 21:25

Went to their cafe for breakfast a couple of months ago. Never again. Their avocado was salty brown mush.

I agree @BoldRubyPoet Morrisons is the best IMO, and I am really chuffed to have a big one in my local market town.

Waitrose is pathetic and laughably overpriced. Popped in there to use the loo the other day and had a quick mooch. It was nearly £5 for a chicken tikka curry microwave meal, (£1.89 in Morrisons,) £3 for a Cornish Pasty (£1.25 in Morrisons,) and £3.75 for 2 cream cakes -(between £1.25 and £2.65 in Morrisons.) I have no idea why ANYone would shop in Waitrose. They are hilariously overpriced. You must be an absolute mug to shop there. And don't anyone tell me that Waitrose is the only shop for miles, because I won't believe you. 😆

Asda are average and also overpriced. Never used to be but they are now!!! Their prices are higher than Morrisons or Sainsburys! Tesco is overpriced too, with average quality stuff, and sour-faced staff, and annoying dot-com workers who knock you out of the way to get to what they want for the online customers.

Sainsburys is OK - but again, a bit expensive.

Morrisons has some good offers on and the prices are OK, seeing as the quality of their goods is very good!

Never heard of "ocado". That says everything.

Morrisons is now quite expensive unless there are deals on. I prefer Asda and Tesco.

Iceland is the best supermarket because they deliver the groceries in bags

So does Ocado.

Both are better than Morrisons though.

Hugely overrated. I know several people who have used them, and they have got the order wrong (and substituted items with things that are nothing like the item they wanted,) SO often, that they stopped using them.

Lorelaigilmore88 · 06/09/2024 21:29

It is the absolute worst supermarket. Staff are morons, customer service is non-existent, food quality is terrible, cafe food is inedible.
I once asked to speak to a manager (It was for a good reason) and they said 'hes outside having a fag' (his break, thats fine) 'just find him outside'. Erm no thanks.

Also when DD was about 4 I was waiting for approval on self check out, something went wrong with the screen, staff member said 'oh ffs' really loudly and then again said 'oh these things are shit'... Didn't appreciate that around my kid. I refuse to shop there even when they did 10% off for NHS staff.... hate the place.

BoldRubyPoet · 06/09/2024 21:29

It's cheaper than asda and Tesco. People second guess it's expensive just because they see glistening fresh produce and sophisticated packaging/marketing
