morrisons is the best supermarket

Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

Well I have to say I agree with OP.

The staff in Morrisons are the best in any supermarket - always smiling and helpful, and when I used to shop with my mother who had dementia, they were all brilliant with her, and so patient - more so than me.

Their eccles cakes are the best, but it really is the staff who make it.

I agree, I always spend more on fewer items at Morrisons than I do at sainsburys.

Edited

I occasionally fill an online basket at Morrisons to compare to my usual Sainsbury's shop. It's always dearer.

These 'cheapest supermarket' tests are all well and good, but in real life it very much depends on what you buy as to where is cheapest for you.

Sainsbury's is also a nicer shopping experience than all the others here, IMO (brand new store).

Wimbledonmum1985 · 07/09/2024 08:55

It’s cheap for sure but my local one is pretty grim and always has inexplicable pools of water around the floor. Not a particularly pleasant shopping experience.

It's not water... 😱

Hi folks. OP is a previously banned poster. We're fine to leave the thread up if you're enjoying the supermarket chat. 🤔

I Can't comment on their voucher system as I haven't used it. But only uk experiences please as they don't have a presence outside of GB

'Technically', they do. Gibraltar 😁

This is one of the weirdest threads I've ever seen. It reeks of someone affiliated to their head office (Hilmore House, Bradford), who's had a little too much to drink at the time of posting.

Morrisons does have the best cafe, but Tesco and Asda do more competitions

In that case the others must be absolutely awful.

I once ordered a veggie breakfast, I was served stale white bread, two fried eggs that had black gritty bits inside, partially frozen hashbrown and a blob of avocado that had been sitting out for ages as the outside was completely brown.

I bet they were the only supermarket to do this. Why did they stop do you know?

Spraying food leads to it rotting

shiverm · 07/09/2024 10:51

Our Morrisons is absolutely baltic. I could see my breath the other day. But the staff are friendly and it's a decent range. My friend used to say the Morrisons own pitta breads were the best (when we lived in north east London) but they're average up here in Scotland. Their own brand peanut butter is 😘👌

shop where YOU WANT

Sure It does.

I’m not joking. I have been to quite a few in different parts of the country and they really have. Sorry if your love letter to Morrison’s thread is affronted by this but that is my experience of their stores.

Gone12 · 07/09/2024 19:30

Morrisons is in my experience typically run down, dirty, expensive, has extremely rude and lazy staff, and the cafes are dire. Leaking freezers and fridges. Poor pest control too around the bakery and deli areas.

The toilets in Morrisons in Rotherham near the M1 were disgustingly filthy when I went in there once. Never again.

I completely agree @myfitbitisfucked .

SemperIdem · 07/09/2024 19:32

Morrisons is a terrible company which treats it’s staff appallingly.

The food is overpriced and poor quality.

DanceMumTaxi · 07/09/2024 20:07

Well, we get it OP. You like Morrisons. Most here don’t. You carry on shopping there, I’ll carry on with Sainsbury’s, the world will continue to turn.

billybear · 07/09/2024 20:15

got a bet you are fun at a party .so its YOUR VIEW or no view

billybear · 07/09/2024 20:17

thought they were annoying, but each to their own view

Wishihadanalgorithm · 07/09/2024 20:25

The staff at ours are really nice and friendly. Sainsbury’s staff tend to be the worst in the store nearest to me but even then most are pretty nice. Aldi and Waitrose staff are always pretty friendly too.

We shop a lot at Morrisons as our Asda is just grim and parking for Sainsbury’s is a nightmare. I use Aldi and Waitrose less often - just depends what we want.

Morrisons often do quite well in blind tastings.

billybear · 07/09/2024 20:31

think they are losing the plot or have shares in morrisons.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/09/2024 20:47

i do confess I use their salad bar 2 or 3 times a week at lunch- and sometimes sushi - dreadful place though for ingredients in my opinion if you actually like cooking from scratch- and the blandest ready meals -
