morrisons is the best supermarket

Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

The stupidity of this response, and failure to appreciate that it is a joke, demonstrates, quite clearly, along with the bizarre writing style, that we are not engaging with a living being here!

Lol. Is it the morrisons advertisement bot powered by AI

Or the morrisons magic fairy?

Is that enough "humor" for you?

AI used for research. Could be 6th form project. Good luck to the person feeding it in!

Every one of their stores that I’ve ever been to smells like a dirty public toilet or a badly run care home/ hospital ward.

That’s because the average age of a Morrisons shopper is about 80 ;)

Also, the last Kantar data I saw showed that Morrisons shoppers were overwhelmingly in socioeconomic groups C2/D and E. which won’t explain the smell or badly run care home vibe, but might explain the run down nature of most of Morrisons estate. The shoppers they have, and bear in mind their share of retail is lower than the discounters, aren’t particularly profitable.

Our local Morrisons smells like when you're abroad on holiday and you decide to go to the local supermarket and get some water and snacks for the hotel room and you walk in and it smells different. Not bad, just... different to the supermarkets at home and it does your head in a little bit and is part of the holiday experience. Like that.

My local Morrisons just smells of farts when walking down the milk aisle!

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 06/09/2024 23:39

What a strange thread, and strange replies from the Op.

Please don't tell me this is a new marketing experience and a new employee carrying it out...

Kpo58 · 06/09/2024 23:49

Well no-one will be going to the Morrisons in Sutton any time soon as the roof fell in weeks ago and it's still closed. Apparently that's what happens when you ignore 10+ years of leaking roofs.

Justleaveitblankthen · 06/09/2024 23:55

Not been a Morrisons near me for years now.

The best are two are Lidl and Tesco (need them both)
My local Aldi is pokey and always blocked with stacking pallets, but does the best dog food and red bull copies 😁
I stock up, because I find it so stressful
Sainsbury's is OK for a mooch at the clothes.
Asda is awful.. Absolutely massive.. and not just the clothes sizes.
I go in roughly once a year.

I know this because the Xmas tree is always up declaring how many sleeps till Xmas 🎄

theaggies · 06/09/2024 23:56

I don’t have a morrisons near me but when I travel south in I’ve found it pretty mid in terms of selection, I prefer tesco.

NashvilleQueen · 06/09/2024 23:56

It's very overpriced for the quality and they don't open enough tills

Growuppeople · 07/09/2024 00:01

Wtf is going on? Why is everyone taking this seriously? It’s so dumb it’s not even funny 🤦‍♀️👏

Coughsweet · 07/09/2024 00:06

BoldRubyPoet · 06/09/2024 21:29

It's cheaper than asda and Tesco. People second guess it's expensive just because they see glistening fresh produce and sophisticated packaging/marketing

😁😁😁 I’m crying

bellamountain · 07/09/2024 00:17

When a Morrisons first opened near me, it was pretty impressive. Especially the deli counter, fruit and veg. The cafe was always a winner with kids too. Post Covid, I swear it's more expensive than Sainsbury's and the service has gone downhill big time. Fresh food counters with no staff, the cafe is horrible now. The clothes also let it down, all other supermarkets seem to be able to follow fashion but Morrisons is about a decade out of style.

spikeandbuffy24 · 07/09/2024 01:32

Too expensive for me
I go to get my prescriptions though and like their rotisserie chicken the best out of all the supermarkets, and the jam/cream muffins
Oh and salt and pepper bread

ShoopShoopShoopShoop · 07/09/2024 07:10

BoldRubyPoet · 06/09/2024 22:41

As you can clearly see by my explanation I worked it out myself

Oh, so you don't have anything to back up your claim?

Provide sources otherwise it's just opinion.

HelenWheels · 07/09/2024 07:23

i found it more expensive and i dont like their pasta

HelenWheels · 07/09/2024 07:24

only concession is i love their doughnuts

Moier · 07/09/2024 07:40

@BoldRubyPoet
No l certainly don't live in a rough area.. and it's been every morrisons I've been to.. in other towns/ cities on holiday.
Plus they don't seem half as clean as others.
The cafe is atrocious.. four people eating together.. yet they bring the food our seperate.. 20 mins apart.. when you want to eat together.
I've had accidents on spilt stuff because they can't be bothered cleaning up.
My friend took them to court once over something. .. and easily won

Op sounds like a person who is deeply unhappy and rejected by many - so mumsnet is just trying to look beyond the trolling and provide some resemblance of everyday chitchat which can hopefully help with their loneliness.

starfishmummy · 07/09/2024 08:00

Moier · 06/09/2024 20:55

Oh l don't like morrisons.
Well mainly the staff.
Not just my local one but others.
They are grumpy and no patience and sometimes nasty.
Plus the food is more expensive than Sainsbury's.

I agree, I always spend more on fewer items at Morrisons than I do at sainsburys.

Anothernamechane · 07/09/2024 08:16

Morrisons new Marketing intern has hit the sherry I see.

I do admire op’s commitment to the bit but honestly you’re all just encouraging her.

Morrisons is shite and for povs op. Sorry you’re poor.
