Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

It's cheaper than asda and Tesco. People second guess it's expensive just because they see glistening fresh produce and sophisticated packaging/marketing

True. 😆

I really like morrisons. I have never been in store. Only get home delivery. But it's always been good rarely get substitutes if there is they are good ones . They still use bags which is so much easier.. lots of choice. Food is nice etc . I done an asda shop the other day as it had a next day slot avaliable. It was crap .

Only compliant about morrisons is you have to checkout within the hour. On line I know you can check out and then make changes after but it's annoying . And it confuses my brain.

Iceland is the best supermarket because they deliver the groceries in bags

I do like Iceland a lot too to be fair. I do some food shopping there. Probably 60% of our shopping is from Morrisons, then 13% Lidl, 13% Aldi, and 14% Iceland.

ShoopShoopShoopShoop · 06/09/2024 21:32

I find Iceland to be pretty expensive and/or poor quality tbh.

I agree @BoldRubyPoet Morrisons is the best IMO, and I am really chuffed to have a big one in my local market town.

Waitrose is pathetic and laughably overpriced. Popped in there to use the loo the other day and had a quick mooch. It was nearly £5 for a chicken tikka curry microwave meal, (£1.89 in Morrisons,) £3 for a Cornish Pasty (£1.25 in Morrisons,) and £3.75 for 2 cream cakes -(between £1.25 and £2.65 in Morrisons.) I have no idea why ANYone would shop in Waitrose. They are hilariously overpriced. You must be an absolute mug to shop there. And don't anyone tell me that Waitrose is the only shop for miles, because I won't believe you. 😆

Asda are average and also overpriced. Never used to be but they are now!!! Their prices are higher than Morrisons or Sainsburys! Tesco is overpriced too, with average quality stuff, and sour-faced staff, and annoying dot-com workers who knock you out of the way to get to what they want for the online customers.

Sainsburys is OK - but again, a bit expensive.

Morrisons has some good offers on and the prices are OK, seeing as the quality of their goods is very good!

Waitrose is overpriced, but you cant deny the difference in quality between a waitrose ready meal and a morrisons one, the morrisons ready meals are vile.

Not in my town. Ours is a bit shabby and full of students, and awkward to drive to for me

Maybe it's more to do with your "town", have you considered moving?

'Hi whats "misted" '

In Morrisons (at the time of the crappy waxed cheese) they would spray all the fruit and veg with a mist of cool water regularly to keep it fresh.

So does Ocado.

Both are better than Morrisons though.

oh do they cool I'll need to try them

😂😂😂😂 seriously! I never ‘second guess it’s expensive’. It’s crap where I am. The one by MIL is ok. I tend to avoid it quite frankly.

And if you are a regular normal human person in the UK how have you not heard of Ocado? 😂

Yes you can't deny the quality difference, waitrose is a 2 morrisons is a 200.

Expensive now

LaMarschallin · 06/09/2024 21:33

I'd go to Morrisons more often but I find their most loyal customers terrifying.

I bet they were the only supermarket to do this. Why did they stop do you know?

Because it's clearly not worth hearing about. Maybe I'm wrong I bets even worse than asda or lidl. At least those hellhole are known to people.

This thread is so odd I need to join in. And say that aldi is my fave supermarket except the gluten free options are crap. The nearest Morrisons to me is ok but I wouldn’t say the best one local to me - I think Sainsbury’s is best!

I don’t like Morrisons. You can’t get a decent joint of meat. And it’s expensive. Plus our local one has a stupid shaped carpark. If you go down an aisle to look for a space, if there isn’t one you get stuck, can’t turn round and end up having to reverse. It’s just terrible. It’s my nearest supermarket, but I avoid it if I can.

LongTimeReading · 06/09/2024 21:37

best/most expensive looking marketing

That might explain why the Morrisons I have been to is more expensive than where I usually go. I'm paying for the marketing that convinced me to go there in the first place.

Im glad your morrisons is good, i wish mine was better as its right by my house:)
I will amend my criticism to say that their own brand bakery items are very good. They do a pack of 4 bakewell tarts that are delicious.

Morrisons us too expensive, don't stock things I like. I'd rather shop in Tescos or LIDL.
Are Morrisons paying you per comment OP?
