morrisons is the best supermarket

Freshest food/best quality, more variety, more affordable, best hot food and salad, best in shopping experience, best checkout, best/most expensive looking marketing, best bags, best cafe, arguably best checkouts, the best range is far superior to anything else sold by other supermarkets or other private brands and its the best value too

It's cheaper than asda and Tesco. People second guess it's expensive just because they see glistening fresh produce and sophisticated packaging/marketing

Nah, people are just good at adding up.

Waitrose is overpriced, but you cant deny the difference in quality between a waitrose ready meal and a morrisons one, the morrisons ready meals are vile.

No they're not. 😂 They're really nice. You've been brainwashed by Waitrose! Keep paying your £5 for a ready meal! Whatever floats your boat. I am not a total mug and wouldn't shop in that overpriced dump!

Because it's clearly not worth hearing about. Maybe I'm wrong I bets even worse than asda or lidl. At least those hellhole are known to people.

Well how about you go and find your local Ocado and come back and tell us how it compares to Morrisons?

I googled ocado. It's not even a supermarket. End of discussion.

I also like that they got rid of plastic bags! 👏👏👏

Our local Morrisons smells like when you're abroad on holiday and you decide to go to the local supermarket and get some water and snacks for the hotel room and you walk in and it smells different. Not bad, just... different to the supermarkets at home and it does your head in a little bit and is part of the holiday experience. Like that.

Ours is the same!!
its like a weird slightly fishy bleach smell. Its awful!
I think Morrisons is absolutely shit tbh.
Expensive, awful staff and crap food. My least favourite!

You're coming across as really weird and very rude.

BoldRubyPoet · 06/09/2024 21:48

Are you sure it was morrisons cafe you visited. It's not unusual for a supermarket to have a independant cafe nearby its premises

Yeah it sounds more like that poster visited a Waitrose cafe.

I went to meet a friend at a Waitrose cafe some months back. 20 minute wait to get served, 30 minute wait for food. And the food was cold and undercooked. Shocking. Tables not cleared, utterly filthy floor, and rude and lazy staff. Never again. I'd rather go to McDonalds!

£5 ain't bad for a ready meal though?

More affordable? Don’t make me laugh, I can’t afford to shop there, but manage with Aldi, Asda or Sainsbury’s.

Chewbecca · 06/09/2024 21:50

I don’t like the cheese counter at my local Morrisons, it has a very limited range. Also dislike the fresh pizzas, weird base. Good fish counter & bakery though.

I like a lot of the food at my local Morrisons, but as a pp said, the staff are the worst of any supermarket I have ever been to.

A checkout lady in my Morrisons once gave me her staff discount just to be nice ❤️

Yeah but that same meal is £1.79 in Morrisons, and it's better!

BoldRubyPoet · 06/09/2024 21:47

What I believed happened is you put the basket on the wrong side and then ended up putting your items not in the bagging area causing the system to bug out. Not morrisons fault. I'm sure one of their lovely staff came to save the day.

I'll have you know my self-service till skills are top class. I can breeze through a Tesco's self-service till with nary a delay. Sainsbury's? Like a charm. Asda? Bad. Morrisons? Bloody awful. I might as well have just tried scanning my face with the bar-code reader.

Yirk · 06/09/2024 21:51

Yes it's Morrisons cafe, it's inside Morrisons supermarket.

Occasionalsnaccident · 06/09/2024 21:51

This is a really weird thread. Also, the quality is rubbish.

May i recommend you to try morrisons cafe? I am sure you will have a far superior experience than waitrose. Lovely atmosphere delicious tea, coffee, cakes, sandwiches. Can't go wrong all at affordable price as well.

Get a clue! Asda and Sainsburys are more expensive than Morrisons!!! 😆

Tell me you haven't been to Morrisons in many years, without telling me you haven't been to Morrisons in many years!

Oh thank you @BoldRubyPoet But I go there 3-4 times a month! Waaaaay better than the hideous Waitrose one!

Do you have a picture? It may just look like it's inside or "attached" to the morrisons

I rarely shop at waitrose, it is overpriced. However I got my daughter a morrisons macaroni cheese ready meal a while ago, it looked/smelled like vomit...I have begrudgingly admitted morrisons own bakery stuff is good but their ready meals being crap is the hill I die on!

@BoldRubyPoet are you in Wales? I'm in Wales and Ocado doesn't exist. I don't think people realise outside of Cardiff and Swansea we can't get it here.

Yirk · 06/09/2024 21:54

I don't recommend Morrisons cafes!
