How the fuck is this going to happen (oasis)

Myself and dh would love to go next year. As would most of the country I'm guessing ha ! The last concert I went to was Britney when I was 10 so I'm new to ticketmaster. Just reading through some threads on Reddit and I'm seriously thinking how the fuck are we even going to be in with a chance of getting tickets with the lengths some people go to?! Multiple devices, different WiFi connections, different sites etc etc
Why can't it just be simple ?? I know it's probably not going to happen for us but it does make me sad, Oasis wasn't my era, I was a child in the 90's but I do love their music and would love to see them live !

When do tickets go on sale?

Desperatefornachos · 29/08/2024 21:47

Are they touring Europe or just U.K.?

Haroldwilson · 29/08/2024 21:48

You've got no chance and it'll be full of twats anyway

Go to see some better music

I got the video of them doing a live concert during their definitely maybe phase. It was circa 1997.

They were the dullest live performers ever- honestly you'd be best sticking the music on spotify and then watching a photo for ninety minutes, it will be just as animated and you'll save $$$.

BCBird · 29/08/2024 21:52

I want to.go too..love their music but they are arrogant . The other day I happened to think about their name snd the arrogance of it- never dawned on me before. Accommodation prices have gone through the roof- probably won't be able to go-😥 Stevie Wonder and Oasis were the two I defo wanted to see. Srevie was great. Oh well.

Crimsonripple · 29/08/2024 21:55

I saw them at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 2005. It was likely their relationship was souring already but it wasn't a great gig at all.

Just get up 5 mins before. Log on. Get ready and see if you get tickets.

pollypocet · 29/08/2024 21:56

If we don't get tickets then we don't, I think the point of my post was more how far people need to go to get tickets to see bands/artists.. it shouldn't be so hard or stressful

I think it's Europe too

It can’t be simple because they are very popular and more people want to go than there are seats. They have added extra dates

shellyleppard · 29/08/2024 21:57

I hope you have deep pockets, the tickets are mega expensive 😞 £148 for standing at Manchester going up to £500 for hospitality package 😳😳

mitogoshi · 29/08/2024 21:57

I've entered for a presale code, keeping fingers crossed. Hopefully will get lucky, I got the Taylor Swift ones easily Grin

Flexibubble · 29/08/2024 21:57

It's doable with just one device, although I'd recommend 2- 1 on WiFi and 1 using data if you have them! I've always got Glasto tickets and got Eras tour tickets on the device running on data. Ticketmaster randomly assigns people a place in the queue when sales open, it's worth a go- just log into your account and make sure payment card is attached etc, and then cross your fingers when the sale opens!

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 29/08/2024 21:57

Some people will just get tickets normally. Plus there’s already been 3 more dates added and they apparently have a number of others with the venues held on standby, think the plan was to see if all the media fuss did actually translate to sales and then add more dates if there’s clear demand.

my brother is going to try to get tickets but I’m not hopeful.

(I saw them live in the 90s, I remember it being amazing, but I was young and all gigs were amazing.)

Not that unusual for these venues.

mnahmnah · 29/08/2024 21:58

I registered for the ballot but haven’t had any email about it, so I’m not holding out any hope there. Saturday morning will be crazy.

I was 15 when definitely maybe was released, so Oasis really were the sound of my teenage years and underage pub drinking! I saw them live at v festival and the crowd was so dangerous. We really feared for our safety and actually dragged one hysterical girl out with us!

I mean someone’s has to get the tickets

you get up merely and be ready to go at the dot of 9 and keep refreshing til you get in

get in a group of 6 and all try to get 6 tickets. And then your odds are up !

shellyleppard · 29/08/2024 21:59

@Flexibubble shame though cos it will be out of the price range for most people

pollypocet · 29/08/2024 22:00

See what's the waiting room all about ? I've seen on Reddit someone posted not to refresh once you're in the waiting room and ticket queue

It is, but events are expensive. Sure the performers could demand less money from each show, but security (not just on the day but the rest), logistics, hire etc all adds up. Lots of people I know moaning happily spend more on a night out! Once venues reach a certain capacity like everything else nowadays the prices will sadly be above what some can afford.

LaerealSilverhand · 29/08/2024 22:02

They’ll be shit and the audience will consist of coked-up 50-something ‘lads’.

You can enter the waiting room before the sale starts, it then chucks everyone into the queue once the sale starts. The queue is random and although there are all sorts of theories on how to get a better place in the queue, none have been proven. For TMs many many faults, bots and people haven't been able to figure out how to get to the front of the queue yet. One you are in the queue though don't refresh!

Mrblueskys · 29/08/2024 22:03

As a 45 woman.... Oasis was my teenage prime Aka knebworth / wembley. Further years/festivals have involved cups of piss being throwed in the air! Go for it but I don't think the clientele has changed!
