Baby having its nappy changed in the middle of a cafe. 🤮 I didn't think it actually happened! This is the same cafe that also has signs in the toilets, to remind people that toilet roll goes in the toilet, not the bin. This is on a University campus of a well respected university!

There's nothing wrong with using your car

It's not a public space

Thanks for confirming! 👍

I saw someone change a baby's nappy right next to the fruit vines at a pick your own farm a couple of weeks ago. Really disgusting.

Do you not think birds shit all over those vines? Or foxes in the night? Imagine all the kids picking their snotty noses, scratching their bums and picking the fruit. It must happen all the time.

Unless the mother wiped the babies shit down the fruit, I can’t see why this is a problem. I can’t imagine toilet facilities being great at a pick-your-farm, what if the Mum was on her own with a few kids? What if there was no changing facilities? Chucking the child on their back in the OUTDOORS quickly whipping the nappy off and putting on a new one is fine in this scenario.

Family with toddler in the row in front of us on an aircraft. We had just taken off on an 11 hour flight and the crew were starting a meal service so food smells wafting through the cabin.
The father then decides go change the toddlers shitty nappy on his seat 🤬
I called the cabin attendant and asked them to show the parents where the baby change wc was and to tell them they were expected to use it! Bleugh!!!

We’ve just got back from Disneyland - DH & I went to sit down at a table in a cafe in magic Kingdom, just as we sat a man came over to us & said ‘just to let you know the last people sitting here changed the baby’s nappy on the table!!!!’
fortunately another customer gave us some wipes to clean the table, but really!!!! There was a fabulous baby changing facility just next door! Some people are just unbelievable!!

Where though? In its pram? Could they actually get the pram in the bathroom?

What has a pram got to do with it? You lift the baby out and take it into the loo, it’s disgusting to change a nappy where people are eating 🤮🤮🤮

Lolajane80 · 30/08/2024 23:27

just a wet nappy in a pram really isn't a big deal ...

coxesorangepippin · 31/08/2024 03:18

Not the best really

I would always use a bathroom if it was accessible and there was a changing table but somebody changing a wet nappy in a pram really doesn't bother me.

But then I've had to change a shitty toddler nappy by the airport gate and couldn't have cared less if somebody wasn't happy about it! No better alternative as I wasn't making him sit in it for an unknown length of time. Plane was delayed and obviously he had a poo as we were boarding and plane toilets not usable until in the air. I found a corner, asked the staff if it was ok or they had a better option (like making an exception for me to use the plane loo seen as there was still no take off time) and got DP to block the view!

Some changing rooms are badly designed, a lovely cafe by me has a bloody hand dryer over theirs so only really useable if I want to risk setting baby off crying!

Most hand dryers should have a switch high up on the wall to turn them on and off im the absence of a normall wall plug. Turn it off first, then switch it back on after you're done?

Oh and I couldn't care less about changing a wet nappy in a pushchair. There was no poo and it wasn't done on the table so whatever.

A pee nappy in a pushchair?

Wouldn't bother me.

Shitty nappy on the table / chair?

Minging.

This happened to me last week, they put the baby on a fleece blanket on the table!!!! 😱

Didn't enjoy my food much after that

XenoBitch · 01/09/2024 00:16

Yes, I have seen this several times. A few weeks back, a couple of mums changed the nappies of their babies at the same time on the tables. Staff did approach them, and they just tutted and said they were nearly done anyway. It was vile. Shit is not something you should be smelling when you are trying to enjoy a coffee and bit of cake.,
The worst was when someone changed their baby's shitty nappy on a table in the furniture bit of The Range, and just left it there.

No way!

It's because of the kiddification of cafe culture, it's gone to far now if this sort of thing is happening.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 01/09/2024 04:03

If i had to do it I would do my best to be discrete.
ie me, toddler and baby together makes it very awkward to get into the toilet/bathroom/washroom (whatever you want to call it. I'd likely ignore a mildly wet diaper, though.

noodlebugz · 01/09/2024 07:05

I’ve seen this twice recently and I’ve never done it with my children who are still little. I think next time I’m going to loudly point out where there toilets are. They don’t wash their hands, it’s near food and it’s just not the time or place. It’s a whole new level of bats* entitlement - you go to the bathroom even if it’s inconvenient / the nappy bin totally stinks - which it usually does!
