If you were only allowed one type of biscuit FOREVER … which would you choose?

I haven’t seen a Mumsnet biscuit for a while - remember those? Anyway, they don’t count because they are virtual. And they look like jammy dodgers. Biscuit

And I don’t want any bun (or biscuit) fights about the status of the jaffa. Choose it if you must you heathen.

My vote is for the chocolate digestive. So satisfying. I just ate three with my afternoon coffee. 😋

ooh… or a Fox’s Cream Crunch 🤩😋

can I change my answer? I haven’t had a Fox’s cream crunch in ages 😋

PontiacFirebird · 26/08/2024 12:21

Does anyone else think custard creams smell vaguely of vomit?

Gonksmum · 26/08/2024 12:32

I loved the Brontë Oat Biscuits of old. No longer around but there are similar oaty chunky biscuits, often found in farm shops and service stations. They would be my choice.

Gonksmum · 26/08/2024 12:34

Ah, seems they're called Oat Flips.

Those absolutely gorgeous custard creams covered in chocolate by M&S. Delish.

Thank you 😊

I'd not heard of these, but have bought some and can confirm they are indeed delicious 😋

Thanks to your lovely replies, today’s afternoon coffee is accompanied by…

… fig rolls.

A much underrated biscuit. Thank you for the reminder.

Though I still choose chocolate digestives for the apocalypse bunker.

A bit off topic but I think this recipe might be the best choc chip cookies I have eaten ..ever.

Do not be put off by the fact it’s a vegan recipe. I am definitely not vegan and I use normal milk chocolate chunks in the recipe. You can also omit the Oreo if you prefer. The cookies come out like a mix between a M&S bakery cookie and a Millie’s cookie. Really quick and simple too.

@WowIlikereallyhateyou I was going to say those! I love the almond biscuits from there too but the pistachio and almond are fantastic.
I also really like their buttery biscuits with raisins.

Yes, the sultana ones are in my second place!

BobbyBiscuits · 26/08/2024 18:55

@WowIlikereallyhateyou oh yeah, they are sultanas aren't they! I could eat a whole packet easily in one day!

TheSweetestHalleluja · 26/08/2024 19:25

Happy faces, I was sooo pleased they brought them back!

WelkomInEuropaJonguh · 28/08/2024 12:12

Oof yes, Happy Faces deliver a lot of bang for your buck considering they're usually pretty cheap. I love them.

Choc chip ginger biscuits from Bothams.

Le petit lu, milk chocolate version. A biscuit that has everything you could want!

Mayorga · 20/02/2025 19:42

Ah, the age-old debate of choosing a single biscuit to enjoy forever! While many might gravitate towards classics like the chocolate digestive, my heart (and taste buds) are firmly set on the Waffle House grilled biscuit.
For those unfamiliar, Waffle House offers a delightful twist on the traditional biscuit by grilling it to perfection. The result is a warm, crispy exterior that encases a soft, fluffy interior, creating a harmonious blend of textures. This grilled approach elevates the humble biscuit to new heights, making it a standout choice for any biscuit enthusiast.
Pair it with a pat of melting butter or a drizzle of honey, and you've got a treat that's both comforting and indulgent. While the chocolate digestive has its merits, the unique experience of a Waffle House grilled biscuit is unparalleled in my book.
So, if I had to choose just one biscuit to enjoy forever, the Waffle House grilled biscuit would be my top pick.
