I'm hoping that the fact this was a celebration of diversity doesn't get mocked.

Because it was a festival of diversity, that someone took advantage of to murder people. Someone sought this event out deliberately to illustrate that diversity is not what they want. It's being treated as terrorism.

But the celebration is to celebrate 650 years of the city. I was taking this at face value, I don't know why diversity is being brought into it by the media, it feels slightly inflammatory. I am glad it's being treated as terrorism & not a "one off lone wolf" attack.

“Festival der Vielfalt” means “festival of variety” - apparently there were lots of different types of street entertainments, music, art etc. - the connotation is something like “joyful abundance”.
