It's possible to be concerned about islamic terror and how parties such as the AfD will respond to such attacks. Both are threats. Both are real.

Edited

The latter is due to politicians' inability to face up to issues, they will grow in strength the longer they ignore it

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 25/08/2024 21:40

Exactly. When the AfD is the party publishing gang rape statistics (in a not too difficult effort to incite hatred and weaponise fear) while other parties stay seemingly quiet, it just allows the far right to grow in strength. The information people seek is coming from the far right. That’s rather terrifying. Nobody wants to feel ā€˜protected’ by neo Nazis and extremists. That’s a crazy oxymoron.
And yet, it appears to be the case. Germany has been sleepwalking.

Janesygal · 25/08/2024 22:14

Afd are not the ones committing heinous terror attacks throughout Europe. That would be ISIS.

I think this post summarises how the left have got it so wrong.

Parties like AfD or Reform or National Rally are simply a reaction to many voters concerns about levels of immigration and the how this impacts the host society (pressure on housing, lack of integration, crime or even terrorist attacks).

The left's answer is to dismiss these concerns as ill informed opinions of uneducated white working class racists. Those expressing such views online or through protests should be arrested and jailed. Political parties representing those views should be banned.

By forcibly silencing opposing views the real fascism now comes from the left. By mocking white working classes the real discrimination now comes from the left. And finally by seeking to ban political parties the real threat to democracy now comes from the left.

How is AfD a threat to your personal
safety? Wasn’t there some sort of far right rally earlier this year and it ended up being a Muslim male so angry about it he stabbed a police officer to death?

Not that this was clear from headlines. Media hid the truth by printing that policeman was stabbed at a far right rally (but said nothing about WHO did it). Shameful.

You don't understand how the rise of the AfD, or any overtly nationalist party, is a threat?

conis · 25/08/2024 18:21

Germany has had a ridiculous immigration policy, open doors for everyone with no attempt at checking who's who and integrating properly.

Just like the UK

Be specific with their current policies that you think are dangerous.

Don’t be like, ā€˜communism killed tens of millions of people, so we obviously can’t have social welfare!’

This is what you sound like tbh

Imagine if people were calling for other groups of people to be ''Exterminated''..their posts would be removed at the speed of light.

It sounds Nazi.

There are good men in the World- Would mothers want their sons ''exterminated?'' , Their brothers, their fathers and husbands, simply because they have XY genes?

Parents bring up men of the future.

It's important to raise boys to be decent men. {and girls to be decent women}

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 26/08/2024 07:18

Just like the UK

And Ireland too. Mostly all of Europe. Hungary has a very robust immigration policy & we never hear of any terrorist attacks but then Viktor Orban is slated as "far right" by the media. Hungary has the lowest crime rate in Europe & also invests very heavily in education.

I think you’re referring to this case in Mannheim? Six people stabbed, one of them, a police officer, fatally. Attacker was a 25-year-old Afghan male.

Specifically a threat to what, whom and by which policies?

Yes that was the one. Very disingenuous headlines from

Threre is quite alot of information out there about ISIS attacks & foiled attacks have been carried out accross Europe, Africa, the USA, Middle East & Asia. Lots of information about ISIS cells in towns & cities accross Europe. Educate yourself. This is the huge threat across all civilisation not the ADF!

I'm not sure whatcmakes you think I'm ignoring the ISIS threat, I clearly said both were threats.
Also it's AfD not ADF.

Please link your articles to prove that the AfD are as much of a threat to our personal safety as ISIS is.
What exactly is the threat from AfD in your opinion?

Like, can you give one policy proposal they’ve made that disturbs you? That would be ā€˜dangerous’ for German public?

?

1dayatatime · 26/08/2024 09:46

@Werweisswohin

Seeing as you are either unable or unwilling to, I have attached a link to the AfD manifesto. I only had a skim read and whilst there were topics I disagreed on, there was nothing presenting a "real risk" .

https://www.afd.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/2017-04-12afd-grundsatzprogramm-englischh_web.pdf

Meanwhile these are the policies of Islamic State which are truly scary:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State

To try and state that both AfD and ISIS are a comparable "real risk" is firstly just not true, secondly incredibly uneducated and thirdly naive left wing propaganda.

Janesygal · 26/08/2024 09:49

From what I can tell AfD plan to introduce more referendums on controversial topics? Is that not a good thing? Letting citizens vote on very important social topics & policies rather than have these policies being made by governments with their own agendas?
