Alison Hammond weight loss isn’t just cutting out sugar

Hello! I think Alison Hammond is fab and she looks amazing having lost I believe close to 8 stone!

However she said she has cut out sugar and that’s how she has done it. She also has a PT I follow her on Instagram and she posts a lot, I’ve seen one PT session.

I wish celebrities would be honest about their weight loss and how they did it, I think she’s probably used a weight loss drug, I would love to be able to afford a weight loss drug but I can’t.

Or she just hasn't put every PT session online

Jealousy is not a good look OP

But maybe she did it by cutting out sugar? I’m a much lower weight and last year lost a stone and a half by cutting down on cereal, bread and fizzy drinks (edited to add I was eating a lot of all!!!) not eating after 8 and drinking loads of water. I am a size 12/14 and they say someone bigger if they lose weight will lose more. If they have money of course they’ll look at a professional for help, but I wouldn’t assume weight loss drug (I could be totally wrong!!)

It’s her private medical business you’re not entitled to know anything about it.

I don’t follow her but assumed it was weight loss injections as she appears to have lost so much weight which she hasn’t done before. It doesn’t matter really though does it?

GreenAir80 · 31/07/2024 16:13

Yes I admit I am jealous but I’m telling you now no one loses 8 stone on just cutting out sugar

Unless they literally lived on it I suppose

It does matter because she’s widely known and respected and she’s saying falsely how she did it.

Alison isn’t private she posts everything on her insta from her new house to her new fella.

It’s not steady, it’s quite sudden to this level over the last year.

If you tried cutting out sugar you will see how effective it is for losing weight.

I don’t think it’s anyone’s business. I’m happy for her

Beth216 · 31/07/2024 16:15

She was quite open about having a gastric band wasn't she? so I don't know why she wouldn't say she'd had injections.

foothandmouth · 31/07/2024 16:15

Honestly cutting out sugar has huge benefits. You will find your overall appetite drops. It takes time but honestly it's really effective

Spacemountain · 31/07/2024 16:16

About 15 years ago I lost 5 stone from cutting out sugar and going to the gym 3 times a week. It took about a year, it is definitely possible.

FakeMiddleton · 31/07/2024 16:17

I agree, OP. It's really disingenuous and misleads people trying to lose weight.

Ozempic et al are just awful and will mess up your body. Further, look at the backlash Fern Britton got when it came out she had a gastric sleeve...

BTW, I'm not jealous. I weight 9 stone at 5'7"... I just imagine some people taking Alison's advice and cutting out sugar and getting frustrated it doesn't work so well for them.

Spinet · 31/07/2024 16:17

I think it depends what you mean by cutting out sugar. It might be cutting out simple carbs which is cutting out sugar. I lost loads of weight doing this once and once you realise what turns into sugar you always think of those things (white bread, potatoes etc) as sugar. Even as you're eating them.

Finnulafishface · 31/07/2024 16:17

Of course she’s used weight loss drugs 😄 all these years she’s struggled with her weight and now suddenly just by ‘cutting out sugar’ she’s found the miracle to weight loss - her and many other celebs OP

Iloveyoubut · 31/07/2024 16:17

So really your post is that you are angry that you can’t afford Ozempic .

Birmingbacon · 31/07/2024 16:17

You aren’t entitled to our private medical details. It’s that simple

ObsidianTree · 31/07/2024 16:17

Wow didn't realise she had lost that much weight. If she has used weight loss drugs, then good for her. I think there is so much negativity around it at the moment that I bet most celebrities decide not to talk openly about it.

GreenAir80 · 31/07/2024 16:13

Yes I admit I am jealous but I’m telling you now no one loses 8 stone on just cutting out sugar

But it’s not just cutting out sugar is it?…

By cutting out sugar you are therefore eliminating all cookies, fizzy drinks, ice-cream, donuts, chocolate, sweets, processed foods.

So yes the method is cutting out sugar, but this then makes you cut out 100s or even 1000s of calories per day.

Don’t judge someone by your standards. Just because YOU might not have the willpower for weight loss without injections, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/07/2024 16:18

She could be on Mountjaro or something but I suppose that's her business

GreenAir80 · 31/07/2024 16:19

When you publicly shout from the roof tops about your weight loss and post left right and centre BSing pple that it’s cutting out sugar when it’s a lot more.

I tried ozempic for 3 months I lost a lot of weight but got poorly on it.

Thatsnotmynose · 31/07/2024 16:22

Depends what she means my 'sugar' I went on a low carb diet cutting out even things like milk because it had too many sugars. I lost a stone in about 3 weeks and if I'd not caved and fallen off the wagon and combined it with exercise I suspect it would have been pretty easy to lose 8 stone (I was only 12 stone at the time though so this would have left me with only a foot and an arm)

Waitingfordoggo · 31/07/2024 16:25

I think it depends how much sugar she was eating. I eat a lot of sweets and chocolate (I am aware that I shouldn’t). I am not overweight but on the odd occasion that I cut out the treats, I can lose half a stone very quickly. (Half a stone is nowhere near 8 stone, I realise, but I am not overweight to begin with).
