Amazon Prime Day - what are you buying?

I love a bargain and regularly wait for Prime Day in order to see if something that's been in my Amazon basket for a while, drops in price. What are you buying this Prime Day week?

Mostly boring household things - got a great deal on dishwasher tablets last year!

stillisHQ · 15/07/2024 16:31

My kids were asking for one of these.

Could you tell me what they do, please?

I know they can ask it to play music, where does it play the music from?

Anything else they can do?

£25 is good. Having a look just now though and it would be good to get the one with the clock but they are £40!

Amazon Prime Day - what are you buying?
BaguetteLady · 15/07/2024 16:46

I'm actually going to give Amazon a rest for a while.
Bought 6 bras (different styles, different sizes). None worked.
Rep told me he would issue full refund and I didn't have to send them back. Sent confirming email with details.
They then denied that they said that, said they couldn't find the confirming email (although I had it!) and demanded that they be returned. Luckily I had decided to keep them until I saw the refund.
I have returned the bras, but the experience did leave a bit of a bad taste.

I bought one of the new Echo Spot alarm clocks.

ElleBelleLou · 15/07/2024 16:58

I also used the early access to buy a new Echo Dot. I'm upgrading my WFH space due to more days at home than in the office each week now and was looking for a decent speaker which wouldn't take too much room up, and remembered my DM has one of these and it sounds great.

£24.99 down from £54.99 and looking forwards to being able to listen to the radio, set timers etc as well as my own music.

Finally replacing my 2nd Gen Echo Dot which is 6 years old this month and definitely past it's prime!

LibertyDuck · 15/07/2024 17:00

Nothing. I don't buy crap I don't need just because Amazon wants me to.

You can link it to a Spotify account, or an Amazon music one. Other than that it can play a random selection of music in the style you ask for. It will play any radio station you ask for too.

haypole · 15/07/2024 17:03

I need new power pack so will keep eye on them.

But they needed to give you their oh so important opinion!

Hoping a few of the records in my wish list go into the sale.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 15/07/2024 17:25

I need some birdwatching binoculars (Celestron)

Lego (the Japanese flowers type)

Smart watch

Fingers crossed

ThreeB · 15/07/2024 17:26

I'll be looking for loo roll, dishwasher tablets, laundry pods, coffee and shower gel. I seem to always use prime day as an excuse to stock up the boring stuff 😂

MissConductUS · 15/07/2024 17:32

For everyone buying the Echo Dot, the Echo Spot has all of same functionality, plus a screen for showing the time, weather, etc. and better sound. It's 44% off on the US Amazon site. If you wait a day or two, I expect it will be heavily discounted on the UK site as well.

Lovesgotme · 15/07/2024 17:32

I need paint! When is this "Prime Day" and will paint be included?

AbsoluteTwaddle · 15/07/2024 17:36

I haven't thought of using it to buy dishwasher tablets, loo roll etc...
If anyone sees any good deals, please post a link. I would really appreciate it. Ta!

PantsAcademy · 15/07/2024 17:40

A new kitchen bin. Rock and roll.

reluctantbrit · 15/07/2024 17:47

I have Brita Filter cartidges on my list, I need some in 2-3 months so it's worth checking out if they reduce them.

In the last two years I got several travel size games for a good discount, helpful for the Summer holidays.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 15/07/2024 17:54

A new electric toothbrush and a tablet for DD as she's outgrown her kids one.

AstonMartha · 15/07/2024 18:07

I’ve never used Amazon Prime but someone said it might be worth it to buy a stroller for dgc?
I now have a trial of prime so do I now just wait and see what is reduced? (Totally clueless).

BrendaSmall · 15/07/2024 18:12

I’m looking for a power bank for travelling, Christmas presents for the grandchildren, something for my new grandchild due next week, and a pram/ travel system for said grandchild, waiting for my daughter to find one, a carpet shampooer for another daughter and a cot for another daughter who’s expecting 🤣

EasterlyDirections · 15/07/2024 18:12

I want a handheld clothes steamer.
