Amazon Prime Day - what are you buying?

I love a bargain and regularly wait for Prime Day in order to see if something that's been in my Amazon basket for a while, drops in price. What are you buying this Prime Day week?

@yepandagain we do indeed. Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

And you're right, apologies that my post wasn't clear. I meant we are happy to help find some deals to share on this thread, not redirecting you to the other one 😅

@BeccyMumsnet Thanks, I was just about to post that it was clear on the site you linked to that you may earn a little through affiliate links. 🙏

I bought DH an outdoor camera last year and he loves it - it notifies him when anything moves into view and he enjoys watching the badgers that visit us every page evening/night. He asked for another one for Christmas - they are so cheap now I bought him two! He can put another one in the back garden and one at the front as well.

Can you link to one?
I have a visiting fox, I'd love to see where he goes. I've looked for cameras before but they had mixed reviews.

DilemmaDelilah · 17/07/2024 07:49

@Bodeganights the ones I got aren't ultra-sophisticated and they are sold as security cameras rather than wildlife cameras, but they do the job! They have little solar panels to recharge the batteries and ours are linked to our Alexa system via wifi, but I dont think they have to be. Can't actually send a link at the moment, but they are these: IeGeek 2k Solar Security Camera Outdoor Wireless with colour night vision...

Thanks, I found a range within Iegeek. They at least have better reviews than the wildlife cameras I was looking at.
When I finally buy one or two itll be these I reckon

I just stocked up on Elemis. Good reductions

Nosummerontheagenda · 17/07/2024 08:45

I need a new hoover that isn’t heavy but is powerful. Just don’t know what brand to get. Any recommendations? Also would like some binoculars for bird watching/wildlife, but again have no idea which are best.

Nosummerontheagenda · 17/07/2024 08:45

Thinking of getting an air fryer but scared in case it’s just another useless bit of kit.

I rarely use my oven now, they are great. I started off with the Cosori 5.5l and loved it (it was £50 yesterday on PD which is an amazing price) then moved onto the Ninja dual as I wanted two drawers.

Vacuum cleaner wise, I've been through everything. Hated them all. (Shark, G Tech, Dyson etc) Got a Eufy robotic vac a few years ago and never looked back.

Birdwatching bins I've just bought these as they are a great deal (and ive been researching for months leading up to this). There are others in the Celestron range that are less pricy and also on Prime deals.

I had a £30 wonder from Aldi for a few years, but recently upgraded to this Lakeland two drawer beauty. Absolutely love it. Both little ovens have windows, which for some reason makes me very happy!

Looking for a recommendation if possible.

There are a few metal detectors on Prime deals. Anyone have any experience? Recommend a certain brand? Not looking to spend much more than £100.

It would just be for me - an amateur - as I've fancied one for ages.

HesGotHisTrombolyse · 17/07/2024 15:56

My Eufy has just arrived! Ridiculously excited to set it up :-D

I was going to buy an Amazon Show so that I could see who was at the front door before I answer ('ring' phone app is abit too slow sometimes)

Changed my mind and ordered a 'running utility vest' and will peep from the landing window as I usually do 😁

MaggieFS · 17/07/2024 16:05

Some of the stuff I've bought needs a signature and will come on Saturday when we're out. Normal Amazon deliveries just get left on the doorstep (we're lucky if they knock and let us know!) so I've no idea how they handle people being out. Will they leave card like a regular courier?

Hakunatomato · 17/07/2024 16:40

I bought a Ninja kettle. Been thinking about buying one for a while. £30 cheaper than John Lewis.

Enko · 17/07/2024 20:09

I wasn't planning on getting g this but dd3 only drinks oatmilk (allergies) and they had a good offer on oatmilk in a brand she likes so checked with her and she said yes please so sent her 6 litre of oatmilk prime day offer to uni. Will keep her for the next 6 weeks so pretty good for her.

I loved that show on Britbox, The Detectorists.

Just coming back to say I'm really pleased with the Tefal clothes steamer, we got back from holiday at the weekend and I haven't managed to catch up with the ironing yet so I have steamed a tee shirt or similar every morning this week and while they don't look quite as crisp as they do from ironing they are very presentable and its so easy. Only needed to fill it once so far for 4 or 5 items of clothing.

HesGotHisTrombolyse · 25/07/2024 13:33

I got a Eufy and so far it's OK. I need to work out how to tell it which rooms to do and that's a project for this weekend.

Damn. I had a clothes steamer in my basket due to this thread then deleted it at the last minute as I thought it would end up another gadget I wouldn't use.
