Amazon Prime Day - what are you buying?

I love a bargain and regularly wait for Prime Day in order to see if something that's been in my Amazon basket for a while, drops in price. What are you buying this Prime Day week?

Nothing. Amazon are slowly raising prices and postage costs while still not paying correct taxes in this country. So easy for them to make money when they do this.

One day they will have beaten all competitors and then will be able to charge what they like.

Please try using other outlets instead.

I've bought a new blink outdoor camera, a powerglide mop and skippers fish dog treats. All are things I was going to buy anyway.

Thank you, I didn’t come back to the thread beforehand but have ordered a Tefal one.

Also cat food and Mutti tinned tomatoes in bulk.

Considering a new Firestick as they're down to £22.99 in the sale and our one downstairs is very old and slow now. Only holding off as I'm not sure whether it's our very old tv that's the problem (12 years old) or whether it's the Firestick itself.

You could try downloading the Fire app to your phone and using that to connect to your TV. Then you should be able to work out if the issue is with the remote or the TV.

An Apple Watch. £300ish, Apple Store £399

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/07/2024 09:30

Also interested in dishwasher tablets!

I got the Ninja knife set in the last Prime day sale and they are great. Now I'm interested in the clothes steamer as I hate ironing and never do but could with one for shirts.

AbsoluteTwaddle · 16/07/2024 09:31

ThreeB

Thank you!

A Kindle, I managed to crack the screen on mine last week and while it’s still usable the brightness of the backlight shining along the cracks is distracting and annoying.

CandiedPrincess · 16/07/2024 09:36

All I really need is a Ring Chime but they're not on offer, and a good upholstery cleaner but nothing decent on sale!

DeathMetalMum · 16/07/2024 09:42

Possibly a laptop. Dd2 is starting high school and all homework is online. We have one and a PC but could do with a second, but don't need one right now. There's two I'm looking at will decide over the day.

John Lewis is also good for laptops. I usually buy from Amazon or JL.

Fuck all, OP. 😂
The "Prime Day" is kidology, like other stuff.
Primarily designed for the benefit of the business, not the customer.

Scifronaem · 16/07/2024 10:13

23andMe DNA kit, down £100 for the one I wanted. We have things we want and then wait to see if they are in Prime, if not buy them anyway because we wanted them.

Also a carabiner clip which is down 29% because I don't care about the colour.

how do you explain that?

Clutterbugsmum · 16/07/2024 10:19

Dh is looking for laptop for DD2 who is going to 6th form in September.

Other then that I'm looking for a Knife set for the kitchen if I can see a decent one.

Belladone · 16/07/2024 10:20

Exciting stuff! A new lawn mower and a outside water proof plug socket

dont I live the dream 😂

MattDamon · 16/07/2024 10:22

Boggle and Yahtzee, both down to £6.49/£6.99.

BellyPork · 16/07/2024 10:24

I was hoping the Bosch Aqua cordless vacuum would be on offer but sadly not. Just as well I'm not a Prime subscriber, really.

Sorry, am I a schoolgirl to "explain" that?
It's my experience, I don't trust these bastards, that's all.

CandiedPrincess · 16/07/2024 10:41

@Scifronaem I always have lists on Amazon and then I just regularly check them if they are non-urgent items.

Reform voter?

CeeJay81 · 16/07/2024 10:44

Cat food. Had enough on my Yu Life app for a £10 voucher too. So paid very little for it😁

Scifronaem · 16/07/2024 10:45

@CandiedPrincess we do too, we also check camelcamelcamel which tracks the price of the product on Amazon, we are all about a bargain Grin

Crucible · 16/07/2024 10:46

I'm looking for stuff to help my Dad. Storage for his flat, safety stuff.
