Amazon Prime Day - what are you buying?

HesGotHisTrombolyse · 15/07/2024 16:25

I love a bargain and regularly wait for Prime Day in order to see if something that's been in my Amazon basket for a while, drops in price. What are you buying this Prime Day week?

OP posts:
TheYoungestSibling · 16/07/2024 12:44

I put a few options of things I liked in my Amazon basket and chose based on good deals. Like a magnet charger bracket for my phone in the car.

fiddleleaffig · 16/07/2024 12:47

A pair of Toms alpargatas for £12 (on the TOMS website for £44 still!). Mine are knackered and need replacing so I'm very happy with that deal.

A game I've been wanting for a while, a couple of books and a painting by numbers kit. Non of that I think was much cheaper than usual but they've been in my basket for a while

Thegreatgiginthesky · 16/07/2024 12:47

Make sure you check out any 'bargains' on camelcamelcamel. You can get the price history to see if they have really been reduced.

Alexa echo show 5. It's £90 at the moment, I'm waiting for the price to come down.

Lots of Ninja products on sale. My sister got the portable blender she wanted reduced to £35 from £50

I'm looking at some of their wok, have you any experience with their 'hob' wear? I have the dual and the 15in1 and love love love both

Agreed this is a very helpful tool! We use it in the team to make sure we're only getting the best deals.

URL is https://camelcamelcamel.com/ for anyone wanting to try it, too.

It looks like a decent price but it only does mugs. I looked at one, have also got a cutter but a Scan n cut, and decided against it on the basis of how many mugs do I actually want and how many can I use as gifts? Additionally the consumables are not cheap, sorry its probs not what you want to hear.

Thanks x

(DD wants to design stuff to sell)

I don’t sorry. I just have the megazone Airfryer and a blender.

Bodeganights · 16/07/2024 13:58

Wirarpa undies cos they are cheaper than normal and have a 10%off voucher AND another 5% off for buying 4 packs.
And some summer shorts that are usually 30 quid, down to 23. Sadly no vouchers or extra off for buying multiples.

Am now gonna read the thread to see what I should have bought.
Also a pair of waterproof boots are in the basket, hoping for a discount tomorrow.

Nothing. Amazon are slowly raising prices and postage costs while still not paying correct taxes in this country. So easy for them to make money when they do this.

One day they will have beaten all competitors and then will be able to charge what they like.

Please try using other outlets instead.

I have a prime subscription and this is about prime day, there are no postage costs.

Do you even know what Amazon prime is?

ODFOx · 16/07/2024 14:06

Mutti polos. When it drops below £1 a tin I buy it.
Today it's 12 tins fit £11.49 incl delivery

ODFOx · 16/07/2024 14:06

That polpa not polos 😀

AddictedToBooks · 16/07/2024 14:21

Is it sad that I'm sat here excitedly waiting for my little handheld hoover and Freida McFadden books?
Keep checking my tracking to see if I have a proper timeslot yet instead of "before 9pm"

Hi everyone! Apologies for jumping onto this thread but we were wondering if it'd be helpful for everyone if we were to help you find what you're looking for?

We do have a dedicated Prime Day thread going on at the moment, but @HesGotHisTrombolyse has beat us to the punch and there's a lot of requests on here already that we could help with 💐

do you get commission?

Cheeseandpickleroll · 16/07/2024 14:29

yepandagain · 16/07/2024 14:27

Of course they do

seems a little sneaky then to join this thread just to push people over to their thread without making that clear

@BluebirdBoogie

you do realise many many small businesses sell on amazon don’t you?

Nonda · 16/07/2024 14:37

I have bought a Ring doorbell that I have wanted for at least a year - £49.99.

colderandeatsmincepiesalot · 16/07/2024 14:44

Ring doorbell and camera (had a break in a couple of weeks back - so feel the need to have now sadly as it has shook up DH), but glad I managed to get at a reduced price
Lego F1 car for £13.99 Hamilton's Petronas (so DH will be happy)
A new sable paint brush
My favourite mascara Loreal Panorama at just over £5 - so bought 3
Finish diswasher tablets - 2 bags 166 tablets for £21.99 - amazing value thank you
Echot dot (like everyone else!)
My usual Aargon oil shampoo - £6.99 at Waitrose bought 3 bottles for £6.36

Now need to stop....

Mamma363648 · 16/07/2024 15:01

Had Lego in my basket for upcoming birthdays, so saved a small chunk today.

MissConductUS · 16/07/2024 15:56

I decided to splurge and ordered a pair of Sony XM4 over the ears headphones. My daughter has an even nicer pair of Sony XM5's, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much. They were 44% off for prime day, so a good deal.

FlipFlops4Me · 16/07/2024 16:22

Dog poo bags. I hate the cheap ones that sometimes your hand goes through the bottom just as you're picking up the poo! Got some good quality ones nice and cheaply. And bought my husband some new slippers - £19.99 reduced from £24.99 (he's in a nursing home with severe dementia and obviously can't get his own).

haypole · 16/07/2024 16:26

I got a backpack for ds. Other than that I haven't seen any good deals.

HighOnMaiden · 16/07/2024 16:46

yepandagain · 16/07/2024 07:47

@HighOnMaiden does a hand held steamer mean you don’t need to get the ironing board out for when you pull out a t shirt and just need to get the creases out of one item ?

Late to this, but exactly that.
I tumble dry almost everything so dont really need to iron much other than work shirts when they've mounted up, so this is perfect.
Put garment on a coat hanger, hang and just float it over. Good for duvets as well ive found.

MontyDonsBlueScarf · 16/07/2024 16:47

Those looking for steamers to freshen things up, if you don't mind fabric conditioner I recommend a tablespoon to a small spray bottle of water, a light spray of this on cotton/linen etc, leave to hang and the creases disappear. More stubborn ones vanish if you smooth them with your fingers. Worth a try if you already have some in the house.

Edited to add - getting the creases out of a single tumble dried T shirt is exactly what I use this for. Works a treat. You only need a very light spray, barely damp and certainly not wet.
