Let's hope the CCTV / sighting in town gives a glimmer of home that he made the walk from the beach to town ok.

If they have scoured everywhere outside and there's no trace, maybe he went inside somewhere to avoid the heat or to a public loo...I'm guessing they will search buildings too.

There is no evidence that his wife has said that this cctv is not him. Clearly it is. There was other cctv which wasn't him, which is pretty plausible. This has only just emerged. The other cctv was viewed yesterday or the day before.

If he was continuing on foot from the Blue corner cafe he would turn inland and walk slightly uphill to Ano Symi. So the going into the water theory is then unlikely.

I don't think there is a pavement on the road. There was a case in Scotland where someone killed a pedestrian and buried the body to avoid admitting it (think they were banned, drunk or something so looking at prison). Unlikely but I would be getting officers doing a good search of that road for clues.

1.52 seen in Pedi - photos above - police confirm it is him (and is 20 mins after left beach, so timings right for a 15 min walk), so Yes made it to Pedi.... unknown what happened after that (and could have fallen into sea as one of the routes to Symi Town where his friend's villa is, is coastal)

4.30 photos in Pedi - these haven't been circulated, I think? These are ones his wife Clare says aren't him...

Have I missed anything?

Long shot but could he have been meeting someone/had another phone?

The footage that the wife said was not him was from a restaurant at 4.30pm - outside with a woman. The Mail are saying they have seen the footage (who knows if that’s true) and the ‘resemblance was uncanny’ - the owner refused to release it.

That is The Mail though so make of that what you will. They are clearly insinuating something without saying it. Could be nothing in it.

Was just listening to a podcast on BBC Sounds about half an hour ago, and at the end of it, MM piped up in his jolly voice "Hello, this is Dr Michael Mosely..." starting the ad for his Just One Thing podcast. Made me so sad! 😔

It's not difficult to make a phone call from a medical facility, and even if you can't recite many phone numbers, people can usually do their spouse.

And this must be pretty big news locally, so you'd have thought that staff would have recognised him and done something. I know that patient confidentiality needs to be respected, but there is a massive police operation underway and someone would have reported it if he'd been to a hospital/clinic.

Of course, he could not wish to be found. He could have done something to himself. Someone could have hurt him. He could have had a medical emergency (although I assume he’d be found v quickly if that was the case).

Yes this is right. The 4.30 photos are the unreleased ones with a woman that the wife said is not him. But apparently a man dressed very similarly.

I guess blue top and shorts is pretty normal middle aged man wear for holidays, it doesn't seem too unlikely to me that there's me more than one person in a similar outfit.

That is correct. The images released by the press ARE him and prove he made it from St Nicholas to Pedi safely. He would then have continued to Symi Town, but never arrived there.

The CCTV from later on, that his wife said was NOT him, hasn’t been released (I don’t think)

At least we know he made it off the coastal path and into Pedi

I wonder if he's been the victim of a road accident and is hidden by under growth somewhere along the waling route, I dont suppose there are many pavements

I think there was also the rucksack, cap and sunglasses which made it more unusual for 2 men to be dressed like that. But again the media may be spinning this. It’s hard to know what to believe.

On an island with 2500 residents (plus maybe a few hundred tourists at any given time?), how weird that he'd have a doppelganger in the same location.

The police haven't released those images though, so they can't be sure it's him either.

Actually you’re right. However the news outlets are saying they have seen it, and they think it looks identical to him. I wonder why it’s not being released.

They may not have searched the other routes much yet if all the concentration was on that first bit of walk.

It's all very strange. I do hope he's found soon. His family must be beside themselves with worry.

Yes I wonder if the focus was all on the first part. Then you have lots of other routes that he could have taken for the second part.
