Off to Taylor Swift on Saturday :-) Feeling like an excellent mother!

I was just going to wear jeans and a t shirt, maybe white jeans and a colourful new flowy top I just got. But she looked horrified that I wasn't making an effort!

I'm in a FB group and people are banging on about outfits, writing a 13 on your hand (no idea!), bracelets. What happened to just turning up and buying an overpriced T shirt?

Daughter picked out a new monsoon dress in yellow I just bought, which is fine for work or floating about on a sunny day, but I think I will feel like a frump at a concert!

I basically have no time now! Unless I head up to Murrayfield this afternoon and hit up the merch truck early....apparently it is already open!

I swear I am haemorrhaging money for Taylor Swift, and I live in the is bloody city!

I'm going on Friday and I was happy with my jeans and T-shirt til about an hour ago, so I've just bought a few sequined things from Amazon on prime shipping to try. Probs will still go in jeans but at least now I have options 😊

@Caplin Glad you had a brilliant time, it was absolutely phenomenal. My girls were word perfect for the whole 3+ hours! Even I'm hoarse today.

I ended up wearing a lavender coloured sequinned top from the back of the wardrobe and bright red lipstick. But was very glad I wore jeans, boots and a jacket. Was cold after the shower in Edinburgh.

this is a very important message for your daughter! You DO NOT have to wear what others expect or require!

It was a very good lesson for the OP and her DD, that her DD is growing up, and sometimes she has good advice for her DM about subjects where she has more experience.

Listening to her daughter, and taking her advice, has made both of them happy. It's one of the bittersweet joys of parenting a teen - the magic moments when they know things you don't.

My daughter is v excited to be taking me along in August - apparently I am going to love it. Am going to embrace it and am now taking inspiration from your yellow dress as not sure skimpy top and silver boots are me!

We're there Friday too. Weather not looking great. I have ponchos at the ready. I don't know many of her songs but I'm sure it will be a great atmosphere. I'm really excited. We were Take That last night so it is a busy week!

My teenage dd went in her jeans. Didn’t seem to be an issue. She had a fabulous time as will you.

We will be at anfield on Friday night. Just a bit concerned about how/when to get there. We are staying with family across on the Wirral the night before so 25 mins away. We can get a lift but only at 3.30pm when entry is 4pm. So I’m thinking we need to make our own way but will it be possible to get an Uber? The train isn’t going to get us to where we need to be…
alternatively we could get a lift in around midday but then we’re hanging round for 4 hrs and anfield are asking people not to arrive before admission time…

I don’t know many either, I can sing along to a few though 😂 definitely taking a cardigan and a poncho 😬

I think you may struggle getting an Uber.
My daughter saw her in Edinburgh this weekend and they couldn’t get an Uber, she just managed to get the tram (loads getting on it).

We’ve resigned ourselves to walking back to the hotel from Anfield on Friday.

Well, my girls are now going half naked alongside me 🤷‍♀️ dd1's skirt hasn't arrived and neither has dd2's top.

I've been scrolling amazon but not finding much similar to the top - plenty of skirts though for dd1!

My dd bought a lovely sequin jacket from asos as she tends to be quite cold but if today’s anything to go by it will be rain coats we need!

Yip, I can confirm after being at the Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer gig in Glasgow last night around 95% of people were wearing a band t-shirt 🤔. Im guessing the other 5% believe the rule which most of us have never heard of lol!! People just wear what you want - as my teenage daughter tells me frequently - you do you 😁

Dd1 looked up the set list from last night - I don't think it was on there.

They rarely play it, though they did when we went to see them at Emirates in 2022. Brandon nearly got fried in the pyrotechnics during the chorus 😱
