As the title says what is your favourite salad/side to eat along side the sausages and steak!

(looking for new ideas as the extra are my favourite bit!!!)

This is my fave. You can substitute the squash for courgette or other seasonal stuff from your garden.

I like the typical English salad stuff - tomato, cucumber, carrots, onion, lettuce etc - but WITHOUT a dressing on. Have dressings separate so people can add if they want.
Many times a nice salad has been ruined by some horrible vinegary ick drizzled all over it.
For cooking on the BBQ I like the Mediterranean type veggies (peppers, courgette etc) which can be done kebab style.

Roast carrot, smoked paprika, chickpea and feta salad. I read about people having it in a novel! Tried making it and it’s amazing and I do it all the time.

Mine are survivors of the 1970s

boiled baby potatoes halved, with apple, walnuts and mayonnaise

onion, mature red cheddar and mayo (trust me)

tomatoes - blanched and peeled and sliced, dusted with salt, pepper and powdered English mustard. Use home grown tomatoes for this not hard, white supermarket tomatoes.

Broccoli slaw - there's many recipes but my favourite is the Smitten Kitchen one.

Chickpea salad wth cucumber, feta, red onion and tomatoes in a lemon dressing.

Potato salad. There is a Sriracha & lime potato salad on the Good Food website which is lovely.

Beetroot, red cabbage and apple salad

That's basically cheese savoury. Most people love cheese savoury.

I'd go with tabbouleh.

I love homemade coleslaw but I'm not very good at it.

Turkish shepherd's salad, like Greek salad but tangier.

My mom's potato salad.

Cold boiled potatoes, diced raddishes & sweet gherkins, lots of mayo. Probably other things, but I'd start with those. yummmmmm

Beetroot Coleslaw. Delicious.

A mixed bean salad with coriander and chopped chillis in it.

not a salat but

• pre-cooked corn on the cob
• pre-cooked potatoes (with skin)

Rocket and pear salad .we ate it loads when on holiday in Australia ( also got Parmesan, walnuts and balsamic glaze)

What (if any) type dressing would you put on the mango/av/feta mix? Sounds so easy and delish.

Yes to this. I especially love it when there's separate bowls of fresh leaves, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, etc, so I can add salad to my burger I please - not all all pre-mixed together and dripping with oil and vinegar.

This is going to be an awesome BBQ. Can't wait.
