Another Tory donor

HMRC has ruled that Dr Christopher Moran’s company failed to charge VAT to short term occupiers of a London apartment block, which have at times included sex workers.

Well, he certainly knows what a woman is! Hmm

Is it ok to ask if @AdamRyan is ok? I’ve not seen her about and best wishes to her if rl has caused her to step back from MN. Flowers

A VoNC is one way the Tory party could clip Sunaks wings. He doesn't hold all the cards, and a core of Tory MPs threatening to abstain in a VoNC does return some power to the party.

Tories can be unsurprisingly brutal when they need to. Is it possible a few MPs could tell Rish! "Either you call an election now, or we will by letting a VoNC fail" ?

I think she may have left, sadly. Or at the least is taking a break.

I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I miss her. Rousette seems to have gone missing too.

I caught the end of a discussion on R4 yesterday with PR and Journo's. They all agreed the Tories have an unrivalled ability to spin the news, unlike any other party. The idea is always to get the press to pick up a story and push it, relying heavily on an unaware audience. Which is why they seem to be so out of touch atm - they're desperately spinning. There was a brief but interesting discussion about how the financial press have better ethics around this and it was hinted they think the political press should have similar guidelines. Obviously if a company spun it's profits it would be illegal.
Labour could do well to introduce better ethical guidelines for political press.

Which will either get mired down in legal challenges, or ignored by all.
Once we are out of the ECHR (thanks Rish!) summary execution of editors who fail to fact check could be a thing. I suspect the media will very very quickly become pedantically accurate.

As with most things, there are some really simple steps that are available to start to tackle the problem. The fact none are taken is a clear indication that the powers that be don't think there is a problem.

Running for the exit! What chance a decent career in the media at GB News once Labour come in? It will be even fuller of waste of space journalism but will not even have insight into the current gov. It will be even freakier than now. I predict it will get even weirder when the next Tory leader is elected: you will know if the Conservatives have gone full fruit cake if all the hustings are there.
