Who's your favourite stand-up comedian?

Mine's Kevin Bridges.

We've just watched his new show "Long Overdue Catch-up". Amazing.

His stories about being a working-class guy in a middle-class world resonate so much - me and DP regularly talk about this.
His story about piles had me absolutely howling.

I just love him. I have a bit of a crush on him.
He seems like a genuinely decent chap. I'd be very surprised to read about him having an affair or just generally being a dick.

Sam Campbell is my current favourite. His show at Hackney Empire recently was funny, unusual and incredibly well- prepared, unlike the lack- lustre performance at the same venue by Jon Richardson a few weeks before.

Out of the comedians I’ve seen live, Harry Hill was the best. League of Gentlemen were fab and Jimmy Carr is also a guilty pleasure but I know he’s controversial.

Im seeing Peter Kay and Greg Davies next year so can’t wait to watch them.

Used to love Lee Evans back in the day! Now a big fan of James Acaster.

Whatdoyouseeplease · 11/04/2024 16:46

Michael Mcintyre without a doubt. Saw him at the O2 last weekend and I nearly gave myself an asthma attack from laughing so hard!

Lee Evans is a close second but sadly retired now.

EggbertHeartsTina · 11/04/2024 16:47

Nina Conti

We went to see Simon day from the Fast show last year and he was funny.
I do like Rhod Gilbert and it's sad he was so poorly ( but now recovered )
Lee Mack in a comedy called ' semi detached ' a few years ago was very funny , but nobody I know ever watched it!

nearlymrs · 11/04/2024 16:49

I saw Rosie Jones recently and she was fabulous.

Also a fan of Lee Evans.

notanothernana · 11/04/2024 16:51

Stewart Lee
Ed Byrne was good too

Very disappointed with Ross Noble and Jimmy Carr (walked out he was so awful).
