So I’ve just discovered Tattle…

My friend told me about it recently so I thought I’d have a look. So I do have some views on ‘influencers’ showing off their DC before they’re old enough to consent, but blimey, this goes above any beyond that. There is a woman on Istagram called ‘Knee Deep in Life’ I’ve followed her for years and I can see that’s she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but she’s pretty inoffensive but the way she’s been talked about of Tattle is horrible, I don’t know how anyone could describe as anything else other than bullying.

i stopped reading after this and I’m very willing to stand corrected if this was a one off and every thing else is well put together and thought through but suspect that’s not the case. I know MN is in no way perfect but just found it really nasty.

I think the site is horrible. Really scraping the sewer.

It really is. I thought it was going to be something quite different but the bullying aspect was quite shocking (and I can’t see that this could be described as anything else other than this).

Do you? Was I just looking at a particularly horrible bit then? The woman (mentioned above) was described in such awful terms, I really was quite shocked (and I’m not easily!) Genuine question btw.

Ahh the knee deep thread. Seems to be mostly one woman with serious issues towards KDIL tbh. It’s a horrific character assassination that says more about the poster than KDIL. When you go so far as to try and find what gym someone is a member of to complain to them, to call venues to try and get them to cancel her tour dates and to scour companies house for someone’s earnings you really need some help.

It's brutal, but in the case of Knee Deep...fuck me. Have some dignity. She has opened herself up to it. Not saying she deserves it, but if you put it out there. I feel for her kids I really do.

Right? Is that a one off or are there many threads like that? For what it’s worth I’m not even a huge fan of hers and I have found some of her content a bit lame, but bloody hell, they seem to really dislike her.

Don’t know these people but tattle is good to discuss things properly without panicked deletions from admins

Okay, maybe I found a particularly vitriolic bit of tattle then. Is there somewhere else I should be looking for more balanced opinions?

Why do people get their knickers in such a bunch about that website. I don't get it. Life is not run by Disney, people are horrible about other people routinely, get over it, if it disgusts you don't look. I'm not even a member nor do I even know who 99% of the people they talk about are.

Toxic positivity and virtue signalling is the worst, plus deeply deeply dull.

I quite like tattle. I found it when a particular influencer was driving me mad but everyone else in the world seemed to love him. Thought it was just me until I found others feeling the same on tattle, and honestly I was so relieved that I wasn’t the only one!! Some posters can be a bit harsh at times though yes.
There’s also a mumsnet thread that I like reading to see if there’s any good threads I need to read on here!

Some threads are mean, some are totally justified (Jack Monroe, mention her here on Mumsnet and it disappears...). When there's a major trial it comes into its own, it's not all bad.

Have a look for the thread poking fun of mumsnet...its actually spot on a lot of the time and very funny.
Yes sometimes it can be quite cruel in places, but they knew all about the Philip Schofield story long before it broke in the news so I tend to think maybe some people are just sick of celebs who portray themselves as whiter than white.

I dip in and out, its amusing.

If you live your life on tv and social media, meh take the rough with the smooth (within reason) I feel for people inadvertently exposed to the seething mobs though. That's horrible.

I agree about the Knee Deep thread..and some others are a bit harsh. I don’t agree with the comments that are OTT but I do think a lot of it is justified when people are calling out influencers for pimping out their kids.

I also think it’s generally a more supportive vibe for posters over there. People on here slate it but IMO, a lot of posters on here are worse.

We didn’t. I still dip into that one too and she’s still grifting. She’s definitely one person I’d like to see get bitten by karma.

Tattle can be horrific. But I things have got better with influencers showing they are advertising things as a direct result of tattle.
They did bring down the nasty bullying midwife influencer - so that's good.
But there are some people who post there who I think are quite disturbed.
Most are funny and deeply disrespectful of celebs and influencers which is very good.

There's many trolls who post here who are very disturbed, not allowed to call it out though "not in the spirit"

I worked for an influencer for a year who has a thread on there. The influencer in question was truly horrible to me and others, so I like that it gives me the opportunity to share those experiences anonymously
