So I’ve just discovered Tattle…

My friend told me about it recently so I thought I’d have a look. So I do have some views on ‘influencers’ showing off their DC before they’re old enough to consent, but blimey, this goes above any beyond that. There is a woman on Istagram called ‘Knee Deep in Life’ I’ve followed her for years and I can see that’s she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but she’s pretty inoffensive but the way she’s been talked about of Tattle is horrible, I don’t know how anyone could describe as anything else other than bullying.

i stopped reading after this and I’m very willing to stand corrected if this was a one off and every thing else is well put together and thought through but suspect that’s not the case. I know MN is in no way perfect but just found it really nasty.

See, there’s what you’re all saying there is a lot to like but maybe I need to just avoid some of the toxic threads.

That said I’ve just looked to see if a friend of mine who is an influencer (And is one of the loveliest people I know)is on there and people are vile about her and her looks and now I wish I hadn’t looked 🙈

It's full of jealous people who have nothing going on in there lives.

Most of the people they talk about are just normal people, some of the people / influencers fair enough, there's a lot of bad ones but some things are just downright mean and honestly I don't see what some people's issues are. For example some complaints have been when a woman hasn't worn makeup 🤔 yet complain when a woman wears too much makeup, they will bully them for what they wear, how they talk, how much money they have, how much money they don't have, there home, there partners, the way the kids look/act/dress/are .

Honestly there isn't a single thing those vultures won't pick at.

EspressoMacchiato · 07/04/2024 07:58

The Mumsnet threads are hilarious. And very accurate.

The commentary around the problematic direction that the Saccone-Jolys took in the last few years is also excellent. It highlights how wrong it is to use your children for content.

Those asking for codes, we can get banned if we give them out to a random request for one.

Worriedatwork1 · 07/04/2024 07:59

I found it after feeling fairly scammed by TeamRH and wondering what other people’s experiences were- it made me feel better that I wasn’t alone in thinking what was advertised didn’t add up and that the guy was pretty horrible, however I looked at a few other threads and found them too much

BigHoops · 07/04/2024 07:59

There are some interesting posts and discussion on Tattle. MN can be quite sanctimonious and I think there's a stronger sense of community there. But you can't deny that a lot of the content is nasty and abusive. Some of the influencer threads are just awful, they go from calling influencers out for being fake to insulting their appearance, families and everything. It's school playground level bullying and no one deserves to be exposed to that.

Also what’s up with Stacey Solomon? I think she seems lovely (obvs not read the SS threads on Tattle).

I think stuff like this is one of the reasons I rate tattle. Because it shows that although influencers present their life as ‘perfect’, there’s a lot we don’t see.

  • Her two eldest children actually live in a self-contained annexe rather than in the main house. It is not attached to the main house and is some distance down the garden. Neither of the children are really old enough to live in a completely separate property (one teenager, one preteen)
  • They’ve found evidence she has a nanny / home help, whereas she portrays that she manages the childcare / housework alone
  • Lots of undeclared adverts / gifted items
  • They show that she doesn’t always post things in real time - eg lots of pre recorded stuff but shown at a different time to make it appear differently
  • She smokes around the children, and throughout pregnancy
  • She’s actually a very shrewd business woman and not at all ditsy as she appears. Tattle is currently discussing that her registered business bought a £1.5million asset - most likely her house. So by insisting all her in the style photoshoots are at home, using her home in her Instagram, etc, it can make ‘pickle cottage’ tax deductible…

There’s plenty more. This is just a small list. But it highlights all the people who don’t feel “enough” compared to influencers actually aren’t seeing the true picture

2024istheyearforme · 07/04/2024 08:03

Again there is things that should be called out but tattle let's face it is a website to just mock people.

Most of the things I saw on there wasn't calling out anything just using orrible words to describe someone or something.

I don't see how that makes those people better than the people they are bullying to be honest, and yeah I know a few people in real life who have made it onto the website and honestly one woman who I've known since school is nicer than I bet 90% of the woman on tattle are.

She donates most of her money to the local community yet she doesn't tell people she does that, and she has the sweetest kindest kids (who are apparently ugly ... A 5 year old ugly ...) apparently she smiles too much but I've always liked that about her, she is a very positive bubbly person.

Grandmasswagbag · 07/04/2024 08:07

Don’t forget before tattle there was GOMI. They exposed a lot of really awful behaviour from influencers. This was before they had to declare that anything at all was an advertisement or sponsored and they were essentially scammers. There’s always been a place for it. I think it’s needed and tattle has been useful in exposing some awful behaviour too. However it goes way too far in that they often resort to slagging off peoples body’s and appearance (as GOMI). It’s plain old bullying. I’ve just discovered the MN thread after reading about it on here and it’s pretty funny TBF.

Hibye23289 · 07/04/2024 08:09

Quite new to tattle but I do like it because they seem to suss people out, some accusations are wild but I feel like mumsnet can be stuck up bitchiness, whereas tattle is more down to earth and they can defo see through people

Covetthee · 07/04/2024 08:13

I actually think the forum here are worse in some way, take AIBU forum. the venom the posters throw at an OP is just horrible to see, at least on tattle unless the person in question is actively searching for themselves, and they’re not likely to know what is being said about them…

Talking about influencers who choose to sell themselves and put themselves on a public platform, is no different than posting on celebrity forums Discussing them, yet no one ever seems to have a problem with people discussing celebrities in an unfavoured light

And the jealousy is so tiresome. People have just had enough of being lied to and been taken for mugs… when men talk about other male celebs e.g. let’s just take football fans. No one ever says to another male. Oh you’re just jealous 🙄

Lwrenn · 07/04/2024 08:18

Kittylickingplate · 07/04/2024 06:34

I found Tattle googling a dreadful AUS influencer
The person in question was a awful as I thought. Made me feel better, that I was not alone.

Was it Constance Hall, the lass with loads of kids?
When I used fb loads of the quirky school mums shared her posts and I found from what I read lots of the posts were actually absolving parents from parenting under the guise of "being human" etc, sat uncomfortably with me. Of course we all make mistakes and fuck up but we shouldn't have that as our standard day because we're human 🙈

LynetteScavo · 07/04/2024 08:18

There are some horrible things posted on Tattle, but what I don't get is why the "influencers" would read the threads about themselves. And then get upset that they're being bullied. Wouldn't you just ignore the whole site?

The only times I've visited the site are when I've read posts like this on MN and gone off to nosey. A lot of it is very interesting and confirms what I suspected about certain people Grin

I love Tattle!

Me too! Been reading on it for years now and still havent been able to get an invite code! Is there anyone that could generate one for me please? I promise i will be good 😊

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/04/2024 08:23

Tattle was instrumental in getting Philip Schofield fired (or did he leave?) and for that I have to thank them. They don’t sugar coat things but of course like most gossip sites it sometimes gets out of hand.

They’re not giving them out anymore. I’m a member but don’t really post much.

Remmy123 · 07/04/2024 08:27

Tattle can be very toxic but not all of it - some of these influencers make real fools of themselves and bring their kids along fir the ride, they deserve a good roasting!!

Grandmasswagbag · 07/04/2024 08:28

Why do you need a code? I had a log in once but I’ve never posted. I think you needed one to see some of the images posted there at one time. I’ve no idea if it would still work now.

I personally think a lot of the influencers and I put people like Gemma Collins et al in this bracket is some of them (like her) have enough money that they could sue Tattle life for libel though that can be hard to prove. As her manager would tell her (he used to be a journo) no news is bad news. She said that her followers had paid for her recent Maldives holiday. So the same goes for other influencers, the more talk there is about them means people are viewing their instas or only fans sites. If they weren’t then they’d have no “job”.

justasking111 · 07/04/2024 08:29

There are #36 Mumsnet threads over there, and yes this one has been clocked. 😂

To be honest the little bit I've read about some threads on here in the last day are more rational than the posts on this site.

Does anybody have a code for Tattle, please and thank you 🙏

There aren't any codes any more. And moderators delete any comments with people asking about how to join. So the forum is pretty much closed unless you are already signed up.

The tone policing rule is annoying but they do moderate comments where someone says something nasty about a child.

No idea. Used to be very easy to join as me and two friends did.

I saw beginning of the PTWM fallout/exposure

Did we ever find out what happened to the money sent in good faith?

Who is PTWM? Updated - worked it out.

The one thing I’ll say about Tattle is you get the same mean girl kind of mentality you can get here. I was banned for some innocuous posts but just made another account. They certainly have their trusted posters though. That’s partly why I rarely post there now.
