So I’ve just discovered Tattle…

My friend told me about it recently so I thought I’d have a look. So I do have some views on ‘influencers’ showing off their DC before they’re old enough to consent, but blimey, this goes above any beyond that. There is a woman on Istagram called ‘Knee Deep in Life’ I’ve followed her for years and I can see that’s she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but she’s pretty inoffensive but the way she’s been talked about of Tattle is horrible, I don’t know how anyone could describe as anything else other than bullying.

i stopped reading after this and I’m very willing to stand corrected if this was a one off and every thing else is well put together and thought through but suspect that’s not the case. I know MN is in no way perfect but just found it really nasty.

You can either look in trending threads or do a google search with Tattle and the person or what you're looking for.

whynotwhatknot · 19/04/2024 22:34

thanks will try that

I think that there are some awful Tattle threads on there but I went to look at the Beckhams one and I think I’ve seen pretty much everything on there said on MN at some time or other.

I get the impression lots of people on Tattle are ex mumsnet so that makes sense.

I think because MN is so strictly moderated and increasingly sanctimonious, Tattle feels rather naughty. And somewhat refreshing in comparison.

It's the humour that makes reading there so addictive. The thread I read on has a lot of clever, witty, posters. MN can be dour, judgy and humourless in comparison...

Covetthee · 22/04/2024 17:42

I do have to say one of the things that really annoy me on tattle and probably most forums, but they always judge the influencer based on what the poster themselves would do

For example, on one of the threads that I was reading recently the so-called influencer’s dog died and apparently according to all the posters she’s not grieving in the correct way because if that was them, they would be in tears 24/7 but she’s posting pictures smiling and then in the same thread they’re saying that when their pets died they had to go to work and carry on so why can’t she post vlogs?

Warmwoolytights · 22/04/2024 18:17

I totally agree but that is MN summed up too! So many posters unable to imagine a life different to theirs.

There are some very bigoted people on Tattle. It's seems normal for people to assume that if you can't visibly see the effects of someone's disability, they're faking it. I hate people like that.

On some threads there are very nice, funny posters though. I agree that MN can be too sanctimonious.

justasking111 · 27/04/2024 10:32

I don't like attacks on influencers because they're not hardened but generally ordinary people. Celebrities are more experienced, I'm sure it still hurts though.

I guess it's more gloves off at Tattle, it's juvenile though, playground gossip and judgements.

Someone said once that the royal family are friendly but you can never be their friend.

LadyEloise1 · 27/04/2024 15:14

"Someone once said that the Royal family were friendly but you could never be their friend."

But many members of the Royal family have married outside aristocratic circles so this can't be true @justasking111

Dollenganger333 · 27/04/2024 16:41

Kate's dad has aristocratic ancestry. So does Sarah Ferguson. So actually it is fairly rare for the royal family to get close to anyone 'average' in the true sense.

Middletons and Fergusons are gentry. Not aristocracy.

Mike Tindal
Meghan
Duchess of Edinburgh- Sophie
Princess of Wales - to my knowledge her mother lived in a council house when young.

Sophie has ancestry that goes back to Henry 8th Court and before. She is related to Bessie Blount.

She descends from King Henry IV of England, and is related to the family of the Viscounts Molesworth through her grandmother, Margaret Patricia Rhys-Jones (née Molesworth; 1904–1985), who was the great-granddaughter of the Rev. John Molesworth, himself the father of Sir Guilford Molesworth and a great-grandson of Robert Molesworth, 1st Viscount Molesworth

As for Michael Middleton;

Royal historianRobert Laceyy* describes the Middleton family as havingaristocraticc* kinship, withFlorence Kitson, Baroness Airedalee* (1868–1942) being Middleton'sdistant relativee*.

Why are you so desperate to prove that the royal family marry ordinary every day people? Kate's mother was an embarrassment in the beginning hence William's friends making means jokes about her being an air hostess. Meghan is a complete wild card. It didn't surprise me that Harry would go for someone like her.

But sadly for the middle class climbers in this country who think their privately educated children will have a shot at marrying royally are for the most part delusional.

I think thats where tattle stemmed from.

these influencers have very thin skin, they love all the arse licking but cannot handle any negative comments, they either delete comments/restrict comments or block users without bothering to respond and its not always scathing comments.

i personally got blocked by one influencer because i called out her racist behaviour.

Doing this lead to a places like tattle and gossipguru so people would have a place to vent.

Sorry to jump in here but ive been looking to join tattle for years, is anyone able to generate me a code please? Thank you xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2024 22:24

No one will give codes

Tittlemaus · 05/05/2024 23:26

That's quite funny though. What are they scared of?Tattle is riddled with trolls already.

Which is why they don’t want to add more.

category12 · 05/05/2024 23:38

Why have codes at all if they're not allowed to give them out?

Or is it just to MN posters?

ChorltonsWheelies · 06/05/2024 02:10

It seems obvious now but Tattle filled a gap when bloggers segued into influencers and became salespeople. It went from ‘I’m a mum writing about being a mum’ (for instance) to ‘I’m pretending to be just chatting to my friendly readers and valuing their opinions but actually I’m selling my fake perfect life.’ It was a place to talk about how the readers were the product that you couldn’t do on Instagram itself.

I give out codes, including to people on this thread. But I've used them up for this month before I get lots of PMs...

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/05/2024 06:35

Oh really @blue345 ?

I've been on mn under same name for maybe 17/18yrs and have seen so many times over the years people asking for codes

And always refused

I read some of tattle - as I said before some replies are brutal bur obv I could never reply as not able to join

if you ever did have a spare code I would like to be added to your list to get one

Thanks 💐💐

I just google radfords tattle every now and then and it takes me to it. Just find the recent post. You can go to other sections then too for other people but tend not to . I don't and cant post though.

Edited

I read radfords. And Casey. And Stacey s

the EASTENDERS thread is quite funny and some of the other tv ones

I do like the fact once joined you can’t name change - unlike mn - so people do know who you are as such
