So I’ve just discovered Tattle…

My friend told me about it recently so I thought I’d have a look. So I do have some views on ‘influencers’ showing off their DC before they’re old enough to consent, but blimey, this goes above any beyond that. There is a woman on Istagram called ‘Knee Deep in Life’ I’ve followed her for years and I can see that’s she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but she’s pretty inoffensive but the way she’s been talked about of Tattle is horrible, I don’t know how anyone could describe as anything else other than bullying.

i stopped reading after this and I’m very willing to stand corrected if this was a one off and every thing else is well put together and thought through but suspect that’s not the case. I know MN is in no way perfect but just found it really nasty.

They called out PS during covid times, years before it all came out, was interesting to follow

What's PS?

Moofart · 06/04/2024 23:05

Tattle is a strange one. I like to read the discussions at times. I think some valid points are made but then people will start talking about the influencer/celebrity's appearance and it's just completely unnecessary and cruel. Then it just feels wrong for me to be reading it!

WaitingforCheese · 06/04/2024 23:06

There was a time on here if you said anything negative about Jack Monroe it would get blitzed. I actually found Tattle because I was googling because what she was saying she was didn’t make any sense (and I was right).
I only follow that thread on there though, when I’ve dipped into other ones it’s seemed nuts.

@justasking111 Phil S

I follow the true crime cases on Tattle. I found the Lucy Letby threads to be very informative and realistic.

I have no interest in YouTube influencers so can’t comment on those.

Cbeebiesisdifferentonasaturday · 06/04/2024 23:07

I’ve just looked at KDIL and although not my thing, I feel a bit sorry for her if she’s getting slagged off

flowerysuit · 06/04/2024 23:17

Calling someone a "rat faced cunt" or a "disgusting fat mess" is not 'exposing' influencers - it's plain nasty. I'm all for freedom of speech but bloody hell, bitter much?

Debtfreeme · 06/04/2024 23:37

What ptwm done?

SpaceRaiderCandlestick · 06/04/2024 23:40

I like it. It gives space to vent about horrible people.

I live near an influencer- absolutely awful woman who pimps out her children on the internet. But saying what I want to say about her locally / in the school playground (kids in same school) would cause distress for her children. And they have enough of that. She's a neglectful, narc of a parent too. So having a space to vent helps.

It does go too far. But it's a part of the world created by the moral vacuum of the influencers themselves.

justasking111 · 06/04/2024 23:45

Most influencers are normal though and it's a hobby. Calling them awful names just isn't on. As pp said there are some very disturbed people commenting across all social media

Chocolatecoveredshitpig · 06/04/2024 23:47

Tattle is a toxic cesspit. They like to pretend they're 'holding influencers to account' or whatever it is, when in reality it's just a bunch of (mainly) women who seem to be competing to see who can be the most massive, spiteful cunt. The Mrs Hinch threads are just utterly disgusting; I'm no fan of hers but the way they go on about her on there you'd think she'd made her fortune kicking puppies to death or something.

justasking111 · 06/04/2024 23:51

I always think of Zoflora re Mrs Hinch. Doesn't the other one promote ASDA products? Where is the harm in this

WhamBamThankU · 06/04/2024 23:51

Does anyone have a rattle code?

WhamBamThankU · 06/04/2024 23:51

Tattle 😑

I think the site is horrible. Really scraping the sewer.

Agree.

So many of the posters are vicious and totally obsessed with the influencers they post about.

They are often blocked because they send the influencers abuse via private message, so they set up another account in order to see their content, then they screenshot it and share it to Tattle to rip it to shreds along with other likeminded people.

I've seen a few of them where I have genuinely been agog at the venom they spout and the TIME they dedicate to doing it.

In a lot of cases it's clear they don't have jobs (pretty much 24/7 studying of their targets instagram etc) and I suspect there may be mental health issues at play.

Either way, it was an eye opener.

Berlioze · 06/04/2024 23:54

I came across Lauren Goodger's threads when I googled something about her and my god, they are absolutely vicious. I am not giving more views to that site after what I read. There's no justification for it, even if one doesn't agree with what certain celebrities do.

VivienneDelacroix · 06/04/2024 23:54

It's where all the mean girls in Y9 now get to carry on being bitches even though they're now 37 and should know better. It really is a cesspit.

gamerchick · 06/04/2024 23:58

Why are we getting threads going on about tattle and Reddit atm?

Tbf, you could say that about here and the royal family threads. Those are twilight zone music weird.

fiddleleaffig · 07/04/2024 00:03

I won't lie, the Harry and Meghan thread is my guilty pleasure. It is all beautifully uncensored with no risk of "breaking talk guide lines" and "thread deleted"

Pixiesgirl · 07/04/2024 00:53

Have you even seen the mean bitches on here? Op's and randoms get ripped to bits routinely. There are unofficial rules, like nobody (unless you are rich or popular) are allowed to start another relationship once you have children. That's putting a MAN above your CHIlDREN. Even though most of those commenting will be in second marriages Hmm

Pixiesgirl · 07/04/2024 00:58

It was cliquey years ago, but only occasionally mean.

Latenightmummy · 07/04/2024 01:01

Some of the threads are no doubt bullying and actually sickening to read. But not all. I follow several threads which are I feel are pretty fair in holding influencers to account and simply bringing to light a lot of dishonest behaviour. There’s also some nice advice threads and communities for certain hobbies which are all pleasant to follow and nothing to do with influencers at all.

Pixiesgirl · 07/04/2024 01:02

The policing of threads by head girl types is also dull. Stop trying to restrict what people say, let's ban everything and be fucking stepford people, boring twats.

AssassinsEyebrow · 07/04/2024 01:06

Posters on that site might make some fair observations at times but a lot of it is out & out bullying & abuse. Lots of denial that that is what is by the perpetrators, but if any of them spoke about people like that on a school or workplace there'd be serious trouble. No excuse for it on the internet.
