Strange things that give you the heebie jeebies?

Was chatting about this with some friends recently. Lighthearted!

I have an irrational fear of sunflowers. They're HUGE! I also go a bit cold when I drive past big industrial structures like cooling towers.

Anyone else get the jeebies over something strange?

I’m kind of with you on the sunflowers. I planted some once for my children to water and grow and they all turned their giant heads towards the kitchen window. Always watching!

Exactly...it's like they're watching...and waiting...😂

Large bodies of water give me the creeps. I think it's that you can't see what's in there.

Also mirrors in the dark.

Cotton wool! I can’t touch it!

Houses that always have windows / blinds / curtains shut!

Gives me the willies! I always imagine someone spooky is living there and peering from behind the curtains 😂

Pylons and wind turbines, also the weird between-show animations on channel 4 for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

Someone walking behind me on the stairs.

as a child I was petrified of stairs without risers. They still make me shudder occasionally.

its a marvel I’ve ever made it off the ground floor.

wild mushrooms in grass/on trees but grass especially i shudder! mannequins in historic buildings hate then standing there in their creepy armour and bustley dresses!

OH and my husband and the squeak when you pull it apart

scuba diving helmets. and those plants that are like circles with holes in. don’t want to google the name because they make me feel sick

Chicken flesh, I have to wear disposable gloves, just cannot bear it.

Wooden cutlery.
Paper straws.

Putting my feet on a damp bath mat. Walking around in socks.

Big ship's hulls 🚢

Even that tiny emoji makes me shudder. Massive anchors and chains, too. I once unexpectedly saw the cinema trailer for Titanic and nearly threw up.

The drains/filters in swimming pools. And don't even get me started on the wave machine.

Wooden chip forks and ice lolly sticks. I cannot bear to put them in my mouth <shudder>

I find reservoirs creepy particularly if there is an old village lurking beneath.

Steel wool scrubbers. Even typing that has made me go funny.

Curtains open when it's dark and you have the lights on so looking out it's black.

Really big things like shipyards

The bottom of a banana

Massive things, like pylons, wind turbines, massive tractor wheels, massive tunnels that water companies put underground. Make me feel physically sick
