I’m sure most of us will often think of extremely sad/distressing stories that we’ve come across in the news. This thread is about news stories that have stuck in your mind for the opposite reason. What news story do you often think of and why?

I often think about the news article where the police officer was sacked because he scanned a £9.95 pack of Krispy Kreme doughnuts as 7p carrots😂😂😂😂 I laugh because how have you risked your whole career for a £10 pack of doughnuts? Absolute madness. Here’s the story below if anyone hasn’t read it before. What’s yours?

I read an incredible news story about a carpet fitter with two bumholes, who was done for dangerous driving - and his solicitor presented the bumhole thing as mitigation in court!! I genuinely laughed until I cried when I read it.

I remember this and just thought he was an odd pervert who wanted the tv dr to stick a finger up his bum.

Lee Balkwell who died in a cement mixer accident. It was stated it was an accident but his dad believes to this day it was murder. His dad has fought so hard to get the case looked at again and again. It's taken its toll on the dad's health.
I remember it as it happened around the corner from where I was living at the time. I've never forgotten the name. It was on the news and all the local newspapers

So unnerving and sad. I wonder what became of her in the end and if she's still alive even.
