How can I make this 'Bulge Cake' look more realistic?

Don't ask but I made this cake on request. I am not a baker, just someone who makes cakes for friend's birthdays. This is for a friend but he's closer to other friends than me and they asked me for this design.

I wanted to do the trousers/shorts grey but I couldn't get the colour right so decided on white.

I was thinking, could I put some creases in somehow? So it looks a bit less 'cartoony'?
Would you know what it was meant to be?

(Yes I've name changed). It's only a bit of fun, people know I am not a cake decorator! I've made 'novelty' cakes for a few different people but how 'wrong' they look is just part of it!

I'll be honest, I wouldn't have had a clue that was meant to be shorts if you hadn't explained. I actually think you need to make them more 'cartoon' like to be recognisable - get rid of the lumps and bumps, just do blocky shorts with a single 'bulge' in the middle.

Sorry but I'm laughing at the way you put a sensitive image warning on it when you can barely tell what it is. It's fun though.

Without being told I wouldn’t have a clue what this was. I would as above make them more smooth and neaten what I’m guessing is the belt?

It's for a fella I know who once misjudged his outfit and went to the pub showing 'everything' in a pair of too-tight shorts, and since then it has become a long lasting joke. I wasn't there so didn't have the pleasure...

You need to take the icing off and do it again much smoother. Also remake the belt and make sure it’s even. Cartoon like would be better.

Sharpen up the leg edges- make the definition of the shorts clearer.

Thank you, I'll neaten the belt and the legs. I won't take the icing off though, I did put a crumb coat on but it would have stuck by now and I'll probably make a mess and waste, which I don't like. It doesn't have to be perfect but I'll do some little tweaks. I'll Google Terry Wogan bulge shall I....

Remove the name. Make the bulge more even- it’s a bit narrow at the base- though that could be a shadow.

Could you do another layer of white icing everywhere except the bulge, to emphasise the shorts and give the stretched fabric effect?

It's salvageable. Just redo the name and make the cock more defined.

You need to make the icing much smoother and less lumpy overall. And remove the name or make it neater same with the belt.

I'd just pop another layer of icing over it but slight thicker so it helps it look smoother I'd also dye the remmnants of icing and cut them into strips for the edges of the boxers.

Once I'd realised the photo was side on (!) I actually think it's great as it is, especially if the crapness is supposed to be part of the appeal (sorry OP!) I'd laugh like a drain if I got that I think it's fab.

I think it’s all in good fun isn’t it, and I love a homemade cake. I don’t think I’d fancy a piece of the bulge though 😂
