How can I make this 'Bulge Cake' look more realistic?

Don't ask but I made this cake on request. I am not a baker, just someone who makes cakes for friend's birthdays. This is for a friend but he's closer to other friends than me and they asked me for this design.

I wanted to do the trousers/shorts grey but I couldn't get the colour right so decided on white.

I was thinking, could I put some creases in somehow? So it looks a bit less 'cartoony'?
Would you know what it was meant to be?

(Yes I've name changed). It's only a bit of fun, people know I am not a cake decorator! I've made 'novelty' cakes for a few different people but how 'wrong' they look is just part of it!

Thank you so much all-this is lighthearted of course, It's a joke amongst friends-it doesn't have to be perfect, and I am renowned amongst my friend group for being crap at cakes-although in my defence, they always taste good! And I'd argue that was the most important thing!

I've known a lot of people say about fantastic looking cupcakes (for example) that are bland and/or too sweet-I'd rather something not look good that I enjoyed eating! I don't even like cake myself

@FastAndLast yes definitely that! I explained above but this fella has gone into the pub a lot of us frequent, one time wearing some shorts that unbeknown to him, showed everything off, and although he was mortified at the time when everyone pointed (!) it out, he has a good sense of humour and I know he'll find it funny!

@Kittenkitty the 'bulge' is purely marzipan! I did try to make it out of cake but I just couldn't get it to the right shape.

Are you able to put the belt buckle back on? I thought that worked well.

And taste is far more important than appearance when it’s all friends together! I do very ‘homespun’ cakes for family. I don’t think they’d appreciate a perfect cake, to be honest!

@FastAndLast yes, a lot of folk go on about the time he came in wearing a pair of 'too tight' shorts. He dresses very well to be fair, it was summer, they were tailored and totally appropriate but yes, he apparently needed a larger size!

I'll put the orange belt buckle back on if that's the general consensus!

Yes, I think people would be scared if I made an aesthetically pleasing cake!
There's an older gent who goes in the pub whose birthday it is soon. He's a lovely man, still works 6 days a week and is very 'young'. He'd not appreciate a lot of the 'gross' cakes I do but he's infamous for being stubborn about his cigarette habit-is proud that he smokes 60 a day because it used to be 80! I think I'll try to make him an ashtray cake of some sort .... watch this space

@Skiphopbump that is amazing 🤣he's well into his 70s and going strong so I can't fault him, but yes I've never known a smoker quite so militant as him. I'm going to try to replicate that most definitely!

It's great OP I just had to turn my laptop round to see it properly in all its glory.
I'd get some orange smarties and make polka dot pants but his "baby's arm" looks like what it's meant to and is quite flattering.
I'd just pipe in white glace icing Happy Birthday Josh on the waistline
(unless piping Birthday suit/Birthday bulge on it)

Turn it round - it's a pair of y fronts with brown waistband and orange edging and which side Sir is wearing.

Maybe Calvin not so Klein, or Hugo Huge Boss iced on the waistband

If anyone is still reading this thread (I wasn't sure whether to make a new one!) I'm trying to figure out how to make the cigarettes for that cake for aforementioned older chap. Marzipan yes but how to get it to look like cigarettes? I have a feeling I'll make a mess! Any ideas?

OP, I hope your cake went down a storm with the man in the too-small shorts. You were an extremely good sport about it. For some reason it cracked me up even more to think of a very game lesbian crafting a theoretical fondant penis based on distant memories or a quick glance at Naked Attraction..

Haha yes I guess me being gay is a factor. I make crap cakes, everyone who knows me knows that, it is a bit of a thing among my friends 🤣
I don't have photos of all of them un fortunately but here are a couple!(too gross for mn possibly!).

Oh and yes, bulge cake was a success! Everyone in the pub thought it were hilarious. I was tactful enough to not present it to 'bulge chap' until he was no longer sitting with his elderly parents though!
