I've lost my phone in the house and spent at least 6 solid hours looking ... and I still can't find it!!

Just starting to panic now as obviously I need it for work ... and all my photos and contacts Sad. I hate myself for this. I'm always losing things but I've never lost my phone for over 24 hours now. It's already causing me lots of inconvenience.

Where the hell is it? I know I had it yesterday morning. It was charging by my bed. I might have left it in the bedroom or brought it downstairs with me ... it was my day off work so I spent the morning pottering about, generally tidying and putting things away. Then I had a shower. Then I went to check my phone at about lunch time ... and it's gone somewhere and I haven't seen it since.

FFS. FML. etc.

I’d be willing to bet on you having tidied it away somewhere! Revisit all the sites of your tidying endeavours.

Did you go to the car? If so check in there

Floopyfloop · 09/02/2024 23:38

Mine was dead and missing for 6 weeks. Replaced it on insurance and then found my original in a box of fairy lights in a cupboard, I must have been on one tidying!

Musntapplecrumble · 09/02/2024 23:45

Is it in the shower??!!
Ahh bless you "sending a little prayer to my Mum"🤗
Mine has a sparkly silver bing bling case so I can easily find it in my bag

teenagetantrums · 09/02/2024 23:45

I lose mine all the time because it's always on silent. I normally find it face down on a dark surface, because l have a black case l don't notivevit. Do you have a case on it ? Mine's normally on top of microwave

uncomfortablydumb53 · 09/02/2024 23:48

Could it be with letters/ cards?
Fallen down back of radiator?
I'm sorry about your Mum

chimichangaz · 09/02/2024 23:49

Having 'lost' my iPad mini recently (it was tucked in between a book and a notebook in a basket....) I have full sympathy for you and I'm now fully invested in what has happened to your phone, op!!

BrightNewLife · 09/02/2024 23:55

Sorry I haven’t RTFT but did you say shed?
Sure it’s not around there somewhere? All sorts of places it could be nearby if you had to undo a latch/padlock put it down near tools etc?
Sorry for your mum 💐

coronafiona · 09/02/2024 23:56

Shout hey siri

namechangeformeeee · 10/02/2024 00:04

You need to pin the devil! Creepy but always works (worryingly)

AWOL66 · 10/02/2024 00:34

Might have slipped down the back of a radiator. Mine was once resting between my mattress and the bed frame. I lost my bank card so it was resting on the back of a tiny fan heater out of sight. I couldn't have made it land like that if I tried - it fell out as I was getting changed. Good luck and sorry to hear about your mum. 💔💖

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 10/02/2024 00:34

Sorry about your mum @LindorDoubleChoc

Are you messy and prone to having piles of papers hanging about? I 'lost' my phone last week, it was under a singular piece of paper in a pile that I would swear I had looked through properly, but clearly not.

Carouselfish · 10/02/2024 01:28

This happens to me about once a week op. Flat battery, lost in house.
I suggest dressing gown pocket. Shelf in bathroom. Underwear drawer.

dailyduel · 10/02/2024 07:30

Have you found it OP?

Toomuchgoingon79 · 10/02/2024 08:27

I lost mine and found it had gone right down the arm of the sofa and under the armrest. I could slide my hand under it.

SylvanianFrenemies · 10/02/2024 08:33

Between the mattress and the side of the bed?

I have learned through frequent phone displaying that it can slide between things side on so easily. Dont assume it will be lying flat.

I once lost mine into the lining of a handbag because a horizontal tear had appeared that I didn't even know about.

Hummusandstuff · 10/02/2024 08:35

I’ve usually found I have popped it on some kind of ledge in the loo.

ShiftySquirrel · 10/02/2024 08:49

DD once misplaced her phone for two weeks. It was in her bedroom inside a hat!
Try unexpected places.
We've also lost the car keys on Christmas day when travelling for lunch. And DH has lost his work keys by leaving them on top of the van then driving over them. See also lawn mowing the door key.

We ask St Anthony for a lot of help in this house. Wishing you lots of luck finding them OP, it's so stressful and sounds like you have a lot on your plate already.

twlighteaser · 10/02/2024 08:53

Any chance you have a Fitbit linked to it? Some models of Fitbit have a 'Find Phone' option on them. Mine's a Charge 5 and has it. My phone was tucked down the side of the bed between the mattress and the metal bars of the frame that holds the mattress in.

BurntOrange · 10/02/2024 08:54

The strangest place I left mine was in the pocket of an apron - I very rarely use aprons but did once and just popped it in the front pocket - took forever to find!

SinnerBoy · 10/02/2024 08:59

My wife is always misplacing hers and my go to place is the window sill by the toilet. Failing that, under her pillow.

I think the best one was when she got really angry with me and told me to call it; I did, it was next her hand, on the kitchen table.

At other times, she's told me to call it, then said I wasn't calling ... when it was on silent!

RoseGallica · 10/02/2024 09:27

The last time I lost mine I had put it down on the chair next to me at the dinner table. Couldn’t see it as the chair was pulled right under the table.

housefacelift24 · 10/02/2024 09:33

Last time I misplaced mine, I'd put it down on a high shelf when reaching for something and not gone back for it. Would never have found it if it wasn't for the ability to make it ping

QueeenBee · 10/02/2024 09:33

Maybe accidentally threw it in the bin

Purplepeoniesdroppingpetals · 10/02/2024 09:37

in my experience: back ledge of the loo (not me; my son’s phone -ewww), in the rubbish with whatever you were tidying when holding the phone; mixed up with clothes in washing basket, inside the covers of a made bed, or in a pocket of something you don’t normally wear (found my last one after 5 months in a formal coat that I barely wear).
