I've lost my phone in the house and spent at least 6 solid hours looking ... and I still can't find it!!

Just starting to panic now as obviously I need it for work ... and all my photos and contacts . I hate myself for this. I'm always losing things but I've never lost my phone for over 24 hours now. It's already causing me lots of inconvenience.

Where the hell is it? I know I had it yesterday morning. It was charging by my bed. I might have left it in the bedroom or brought it downstairs with me ... it was my day off work so I spent the morning pottering about, generally tidying and putting things away. Then I had a shower. Then I went to check my phone at about lunch time ... and it's gone somewhere and I haven't seen it since.

FFS. FML. etc.

On the laundry airer, if you did any laundry…?
or in with the detergent bottles, utility cupboard (if you have a utility room)? Otherwise back of sofa cushions? Retrace pottering and open all drawers and bags you put things in…? Anything funeral related you put away where it might have also gone(smart black shoes in a shoebox? Rarely worn coat pocket?) if I put my phone down anywhere dark or on anything black I can never find it as it just blends in.

Stop looking, seriously. You don't need it right now do you? You can communicate otherwise so it would be a nice to have. Relax and forget about it for a bit and you can guarantee you'll remember that daft place you popped it down.

I'm glad you you've checked the washing. That was my worry.

My usual losing place is "between things" ;between the bed and bedside cabinet, my desk & filing cabinet, down the side of the settee etc. Can you go through, room by room looking under, behind and between?

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum. Whatever happens to your phone don't beat yourself up. It's a really rubbish time.

Mine is always pockets 😂 or propped it on a radiator once and it fell down the back...

Random places I find mine:
On top of the tall shoe rack
On the square newel posts of a banister
On the shelf in the bathroom where the toothpaste pots are
On a bed in my daughter's room, but underneath something where I've gone in to fold washing, reading crap, then got distracted
Next to the microwave (in a cupboard here)

Long and short of it is think of tasks that you may have started doing without thought/ one handed, but you might have got distracted

Have you been out to the bin and it's fell in amongst other stuf?

Dressing gown pocket?

Bathroom drawers / medication cupboard?

Absolutely no trips to the outside bins!. I didn't do any yesterday and we have an embargo on it until the phone is found. We're probably going to end up like one of those terrible hoarder houses.

In the toilet roll basket?

Between the mattress and the solid bed surround? My son lost money in this gap

In the bathroom (I balance mine on the bin lid!)
In kitchen cupboards including in bowls etc.
In the fridge
Down the side/back of all furniture but particularly cabinets
In clothes draws
In pockets
Bottom of wardrobe

Fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, air fryer?
Bins, recycling, washing machine, tumble dryer?

Have you something like a cupboard that you might have put it on top
We had a small children's wardrobe that my Dh put his watch on top while doing DIY. Took ages to find it

Do you take it in the bathroom with you? My dh does (gross) and often leaves it there.

No need to panic as it’s definitely in the house somewhere.

When mine is lost it's either tangled up in the bed covers or face down on black socks drying on the bathroom radiator. It's practically invisible then.

I once found mine on top of my wardrobe . I'd been stood on a stool sorting the blind and must have left it up there. Check up high just in case.

Do you have a Google account on your phone? If so add it to family link and make it 'ring'. It is quite loud and not a ring tone. You can do it repeatedly.
