I've lost my phone in the house and spent at least 6 solid hours looking ... and I still can't find it!!

Just starting to panic now as obviously I need it for work ... and all my photos and contacts Sad. I hate myself for this. I'm always losing things but I've never lost my phone for over 24 hours now. It's already causing me lots of inconvenience.

Where the hell is it? I know I had it yesterday morning. It was charging by my bed. I might have left it in the bedroom or brought it downstairs with me ... it was my day off work so I spent the morning pottering about, generally tidying and putting things away. Then I had a shower. Then I went to check my phone at about lunch time ... and it's gone somewhere and I haven't seen it since.

FFS. FML. etc.

Doesn't matter if on silent.

Poppercorn · 09/02/2024 21:57

Dressing gown pocket? Hoody pocket? Did you pop to the car? Literally everything you wore yesterday?

You're just going to have to retrace every single thing you did. At least you know it's in the house though.

What waist of police time! FFS

Needed to report it missing for insurance. We didn’t ask them to come to the house! Took less interest when I was involved in a hit and run… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Finallyhappyat58 · 09/02/2024 22:07

Not under the bed but behind the head board between the top of the mattress and headboard

MadeForThis · 09/02/2024 22:07

Inside the frame of the bed. Can you lift the bed and shake?
Propped up against the wall

twnety · 09/02/2024 22:10

If its on silent then wait till dark and turn all the lights off, and ring it

determinedtomakethiswork · 09/02/2024 22:10

Have you checked the very end of the bed? The bit where the mattress joins the wall? Can it be wedged down there or at the foot end?

Pussygaloregalapagos · 09/02/2024 22:11

Strange places I have found my phone:

  1. inside a book I was reading.
  2. in the dog bed
  3. in a box of nitro grain bars in the cupboard (it had been missing a week at that point.
skysmumm · 09/02/2024 22:12

Try every drawer in the kitchen!

Containerhome · 09/02/2024 22:13

Kitchen drawers? Window sill behind curtains? Behind tea and coffee etc? Behind sofa?

treacledan71 · 09/02/2024 22:14

I got a pink cover for mine now. Easier to find. Hope you find it.

NorthCliffs · 09/02/2024 22:15

I caught my 2 year old quietly pushing my phone under the fridge once. Thank God I saw him, it was on low battery and I would never have found it when it died.

DD lost her iPad mini and we even had the police round to the house! Claimed on insurance eventually. Found it years later slightly bent when we dismantled her bed to sell. Had looked there several times. Check obvious places again!

You had the police around to the house when your daughter lost her tablet?!?!

Comfysock · 09/02/2024 22:16

This is where I usually loose mine...

downside of sofa
In my makeupbag in bathroom
Down side of drivers side in car
Under the drivers seat
On my car charger pad
In my dressing gown

kaytyy · 09/02/2024 22:25

When mine went missing it was in the bin (thankfully still inside the house).
It had fallen in from my pocket which wasn't deep and was on an angle.

Maybe ask the tarot card reading lady off the other thread?

I spent ten minutes looking for my phone the other morning (having had it in my hand 20 mins before) only for DH to call my work phone to say he had taken it to work by mistake (his was being fixed so he just picked up the nearest one lol).

Places to look:

  • On some random surface (mine is frequently on the freezer or on the utility room worktop
  • Coat pockets
  • Shoes esp walking boots
  • Football boots (DS lost his for a week once as he only wore the boots on a Sunday for matches)
  • Side of sofa
  • In loo (the room not the actual loo)
  • In the middle of something you put away (bedlinen, towels, tea towels, underwear)
  • On top of a kitchen cupboard when yo were cleaning
  • In the fridge

Or is it hiding in plain sight on the TV table or similar? I see lots of otehrs have suggested that but it is a thing, esp if it is in a black case.

Lololol at car key in the bra! How tho?

Can anyone lift a bed & shake it ?

Boomboom22 · 09/02/2024 22:28

Also, just checking, but are you using it now on mn? Sometimes you can have a blank 🤣

Notallmilsarebad · 09/02/2024 22:56

I remember having lost my phone once. I was chatting with DH when I realised I didn’t know where my phone was. I asked DH if he’d seen it and he was suggesting the usual places - down the sides of the sofa, in the downstairs loo, etc and I was going off to check. This went on for a good few minutes until I realised I was on my phone to DH!!! So used to my phone being something in my hands that I’m looking at rather than against my ear out of sight!

I know this won’t help you now but you just reminded me of this 😂 I hope you find your phone soon!

Winter2020 · 09/02/2024 23:12

If you have a bookshelf see if it has been slipped in on top of the row of books - not clearly visible because of the shelf above. That's where we found one that was lost for a while.

Most things that are lost are very near where you think they are - so if you think you knew where it is search again within a meter of there.

Lavender14 · 09/02/2024 23:16

We have a pull out bed in ds room. The last time I lost my phone it had fallen into the gap between the bed and the pull out bit?

Also down the sofa/ under the sofa. Inside a rip in my coat pocket so it was inside the coat. Would anyone else in or visiting your phone have a similar phone and have moved it thinking it was theirs? Down the side of the seat in the car? In the garden?

You might need to do a deep search per room. Start from the top down one room at a time and pull out all furniture etc. Hope you find it. The longest I went was 6 hrs and I drove myself crazy looking for it.

norasand · 09/02/2024 23:19

Been in the car by any chance? Mine has been turned up more than once in the small gap between the car seat and the central console

SheepAndSword · 09/02/2024 23:24

Hope you have found it now! I always misplace mine in the sofa then have a mini shitfit throwing everything off in a phone search

Moonpig82 · 09/02/2024 23:26

Behind mattress/headboard? Sock drawer?

Zonder · 09/02/2024 23:32

Have you pulled the bed and your bedside table out?
