I've lost my phone in the house and spent at least 6 solid hours looking ... and I still can't find it!!

Just starting to panic now as obviously I need it for work ... and all my photos and contacts Sad. I hate myself for this. I'm always losing things but I've never lost my phone for over 24 hours now. It's already causing me lots of inconvenience.

Where the hell is it? I know I had it yesterday morning. It was charging by my bed. I might have left it in the bedroom or brought it downstairs with me ... it was my day off work so I spent the morning pottering about, generally tidying and putting things away. Then I had a shower. Then I went to check my phone at about lunch time ... and it's gone somewhere and I haven't seen it since.

FFS. FML. etc.

I did this and it was in the sofa, but really far down the side.

FrancisSeaton · 09/02/2024 17:53

Do you have find my iPhone?

rainydaysaway · 09/02/2024 17:54

Check the places you tidied things away to

Wishicouldthinkofagoodone · 09/02/2024 17:54

Can’t you log in remotely and make it beep or sound an alarm?

we have iPhones and findmyiphone is used multiple times a day to find a phone that’s been put down somewhere and can’t be found 😂

TheSproutOfWrath · 09/02/2024 17:55

Can you email a friend to ring it for you if you dont have a landline or significant other there?

FrancisSeaton · 09/02/2024 17:55

I know it won't help now but I have a tile on my key ring and if you press it your phone makes a noise

Teq · 09/02/2024 17:56

Are you currently using it to Mumsnet?

Or use Google find my device if its an android

notknowledgeable · 09/02/2024 17:56

Look in your washing basket, is it in a pocket? Did it fall out of a pocket? I hope it isn't in the washing machine!

Did it get caught up in clean laundry being put away?

have you stood on any chairs to reach anything? Top shelves? Curtain pullmets? You might have got up with your phone in your hand and absently put it down on the high up thing.

is it in the fridge or freezer?

Do you have a cat? Does your cat knock things down behind furniture?

How about bed clothes? is it in your duvet case or pillow case? Has it wriggled under you bottom sheet, or mattress protector, or has it fallen down the side of the mattress?

or is it down the back of the sofa?

AthenaWhite · 09/02/2024 17:57

If you are logged in on your gmail then you can make it ring remotely even if set to silent. I do this at least once a day

Yes. Brilliant piece of kit - also enables my phone to find my keys regularly

Showmethebagels · 09/02/2024 17:57

DD lost her iPad mini and we even had the police round to the house! Claimed on insurance eventually. Found it years later slightly bent when we dismantled her bed to sell. Had looked there several times. Check obvious places again!

🤣

Catlover1705 · 09/02/2024 17:57

I'm always doing this too and usually get the whole family looking. My daughter always manages to find it somehow. The most unusual places it's been found is on top of a tall cabinet and outside by the front door.

Anjea · 09/02/2024 17:58

Mine was in the airing cupboard under the fresh towels

iPad, laptop, desktop?

Anyway, DH lost his iPad while tidying because he put it with a stack of books by mistake. Check everywhere you have tided.

Are you sure it’s in the house?

JustWonderingIfImNormal · 09/02/2024 17:58

In a kitchen cupboard? Or fridge? Or in the kitchen bin? Or outside bin? Inside your duvet cover? I found mine in a shoe on the shoe rack once.

gracewitt · 09/02/2024 17:59

Dressing gown pocket?

Showmethebagels · 09/02/2024 17:59

have you stood on any chairs to reach anything? Top shelves? Curtain pullmets? You might have got up with your phone in your hand and absently put it down on the high up thing this is really good advice!

purser25 · 09/02/2024 17:59

In the bin or dustbin

BobnLen · 09/02/2024 17:59

Can you somehow ring it and listen hard

determinedtomakethiswork · 09/02/2024 18:00

In your dressing gown pocket
Under your bed
Under the bath towels
In the washing basket
Deep down in the sides of the sofa
Resting face on something black

Paw2024 · 09/02/2024 18:00

Have you done the sit down quietly and think/retrace your steps in your head? That usually works for me

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 09/02/2024 18:00

If you have a Garmin watch you can use find my phone on it. I only found that yesterday and I've had the Garmin for ages!!!
