Police think Abdul Shokoor Ezedi "died in the Thames", having last been seen leaning over Chelsea bridge.

Couldn't face the disability and disfigurement that he had attempted to inflict on helpless girls, but rebounded onto himself , maybe.

As long as he actually is there as this sounds like last known sighting and he wasn't leaning over the bridge? Rather than excuse to stop searching and he gets away. Shouldn't they search the Thames?

I don't think you actually can search the Thames

The Met have said: "The Thames is very fast flowing this time of year and very wide, it is possible he may never be found."

It seems there's no CCTV beyond him walking up and down Chelsea bridge and leaning over.

I’d never assume any one died in the Thames unless someone actually saw them fall in or a body is recovered.

I thought this would be the end result(not the Thames but him taking his own life). Good. No loss to society is he.

I think he's still alive and somebody is covering for him. A male member of his family has even said he's not a sex offender because he's too nice despite the police/courts saying otherwise. He's too much of a snivelling coward to kill himself.

I hope they continue to keep searching until they find a body, even if it takes ten years.

Realistically, with our crap sentences in the UK, he wouldn't have really received much in the way of punishment so it's better off that he's dead

Without a body, I would assume he is alive.

Bit odd how a body was found in the Thames a few days back that was not him. Then suddenly its decided he's likely dead in the river. How easy is it to live of grid?

I personally think he has left the UK, someone would have seen him fall into the Thames, surely?!

People drown quickly and it doesn't take long to even fall in.
Plenty of places where he could have slipped in, unnoticed. And it was dark and winter so fewer people about.

He was severely injured during his horrendous attack on his poor victims wasn't he? If he's been unable to get medical assistance then there's a high probability his injuries might have killed him.

I read on Reddit a while back that bodies can take a long time to wash up from the Thames. There are several areas where they "gather" due to the tides, but they can also be washed out to sea and never be found. Personally I think they shouldn't assume he is dead until all avenues have been explored, but there isn't the budget for that thanks to the Tory decimation of our society's basic functions.

I don't think this is likely because he would be very recognisable with his injuries and it's almost impossible to leave the country - by any route - without being seen by a lot of people. Being hidden by one or two relatives is more likely but I actually think he probably is dead.

His injuries would have needed immediate medical attention. Unless someone is shielding him and getting him medical aid he's probably dead.

I've possibly watched too many episodes of Bones but don't they have fairly detailed modelling of flow patterns and tides? If they know where he was leaning over, you'd think they'd have an idea where to look.

Burns like he had would have become infected fairly soon and seriously on his face. How he has enough support to treat them and be smuggled out of the country... I just don't see it.

If he's dead - good riddance.

If he's alive, he will be in agony from his injuries - serves him right.
