Looks like the coward died in the Thames [edit by MNHQ]

Police think Abdul Shokoor Ezedi "died in the Thames", having last been seen leaning over Chelsea bridge.

Couldn't face the disability and disfigurement that he had attempted to inflict on helpless girls, but rebounded onto himself , maybe.

Couldn't face justice - coward

Oh how convenient. They can call off the search now.

I don't believe it for a moment. They just can't find him.

They can’t find anyone. The home office, the police. We don’t have a bloody clue who’s here. The party so tough on border control and immigration. Look up the figures for deportation under the last government and compare.

blueshoes · 09/02/2024 21:42

He seems pretty incompetent to injure himself so badly in the same way he attacked and injured the woman.

Did he throw the acid into his own eye? I don't even know how he could do that accidentally.

Karma is a bitch.

Risun · 09/02/2024 21:43

I've thought for several days that he'd gone into the Thames.

I don't think the police are lying.

SunflowerSeeds123 · 09/02/2024 21:31

Sounds like the Met are without leads and have given up.

Or they are allowing him to believe they have given up in the hope of luring him out from where he is hiding

BoobyDazzler · 09/02/2024 21:45

I wondered if the police were trying to give the impression that they think he’s dead to try and get him to break cover.

He got into a tussle with everyone that came running to help the victims, and the alkali ended up in his own face. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy

I thought he was a likely suicide when his distinctive facial injury was shown.

He must have been in agony (yay) and obviously knew there was no chance of going anywhere to avoid arrest.

So he had to face the prospect of being inside a friends home for the rest of his life, blind in one eye, or going to prison.

Or death.

VampireWeekday · 09/02/2024 21:56

Very convenient excuses to stop searching in my opinion.

TheBeehive · 09/02/2024 22:07

who knows what the security services know if they have helped in anyway ?

newnamethanks · 09/02/2024 22:09

Police lie for many reasons, none of which seem to apply here. If he went in the Thames, with the recent weather and quantity of water, his body will be much further downstream from Chelsea and take some time to be found, if ever.

SweetBirdsong · 09/02/2024 22:14

LittleGreenDragons · 09/02/2024 17:24

I think he's still alive and somebody is covering for him. A male member of his family has even said he's not a sex offender because he's too nice despite the police/courts saying otherwise. He's too much of a snivelling coward to kill himself.

I hope they continue to keep searching until they find a body, even if it takes ten years.

Yeah I think this. He is too much of a coward to take his own life. Someone else IS covering for him/hiding him for sure. The sort of people he would have in his life very likely don't see anything wrong with what he has done.

DeeCeeCherry · 09/02/2024 22:15

I do wonder, if CCTV caught him pacing up and down on the bridge - why wasnt he seen jumping into the Thames? I mean theres no logical reason CCTV would be suddenly switched off at that point is there? There are so many cameras in the area and 2 on that bridge (or maybe 3, I cant quite remember) yet his jump was missed by all of them? I don't believe he jumped. The police would've been better off saying nothing for now.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 09/02/2024 22:17

icallitasplodge · 09/02/2024 17:23

I’d never assume any one died in the Thames unless someone actually saw them fall in or a body is recovered.

Exactly. Seems too convenient for them to say this.

Keep searching!

artfuldodgerjack · 09/02/2024 22:17

Bassetlover · 09/02/2024 17:32

That's convenient.

I thought the same...

PinkCandles · 09/02/2024 22:21

They said the cctv showed he didn't leave the bridge afterwards, so that's why they think he jumped, even though him jumping was obscured on cctv.

SquirmOfEels · 09/02/2024 22:28

Well, they've said they'll search the Thames, as far as is possible.

But if they could find no sign of him leaving the bridge on foot, where should they be looking? (Genuine question - they'd tracked him for several miles, so seem to be able to find him and follow him even where there are multiple options for where he could have gone - so what happened here, that meant he didn't leave the bridge on a pavement?)

ATerrorofLeftovers · 09/02/2024 22:29

Could he have been picked up by a car on the bridge without it being caught on CCTV? I wonder if there are any blind spots. I kind of think it's too good to be true that he conveniently topped himself.

Grandmasswag · 09/02/2024 22:31

I might be getting into real tin foil territory here but it’s a very convenient narrative. Headline becomes ‘suicide of runaway’ rather than ‘why was yet another man who’d committed a misogynist hate crime out and about to commit yet another crime’. Plus it quells all discussion of why he was here in the first place after committing said crime. A discussion which was shut down by MN the first time.

Without a body, I would assume he is alive

This. If he isn’t, I fervently hope he spent his last days in agony.

This 100%. We are one of the most heavily surveilled countries on the planet. Our CCTV network rivals China’s. If they had footage of him on the bridges and approaching the edge, then they’d have footage of him going over. This whole thing stinks.

newnamethanks · 09/02/2024 22:36

Tin foil hats. Are they handing them out by the bagful now?

Lots of men harm and / or kill their families before doing themselves in, why are they less of a coward than him?

Backwiththeillbehaviour · 09/02/2024 22:38

I can't imagine there is a long line of people willing to go out of their way or risk arrest by helping him.

He worked in a takeaway, he wasn't some well connected mafia kingpin.

Startyabastard · 09/02/2024 22:40

He is the epitome of cowardice.
