Do you make the beds before or after the school run?!

Just curious. I like to try and have everything done (dishwasher unloaded and reloaded from breakfast, beds made, toothbrushes put away etc etc) before we leave so that I can come home to a relatively clean flat but it is a MAD stressful rush!

Before, I'm going straight to work

Mine are done as soon as I’m up then I know they are done.

My DC are not the fastest at getting ready, so stopping for tidying up beds, breakfast etc before school would definitely tip us over into being late for school.

Never really make them it’s a waste of time.

I leave my covers back and never make my bed.

I fold the duvets back to air when I get up and open the bedroom windows, then make the beds properly when I close the windows just before we leave.

Life is too short to care whether beds are made or not. Besides, as soon as I go to work, the dog worms her way under the duvet and unmakes it.

What are you doing with your toothbrushes which means they need 'putting away'?

Op I'm one of those people who has to have beds made before I leave the house to work/school. And leave bedroom windows open a bit.

No beds being made over here. If I did/when we used to pre-parenthood, I'd do it afterwards so that they can air out a bit first.

I don't even look at the children's beds unless I'm changing the sheets or tucking them in on an evening. If they want their beds made they know how. Their doors stay shut during the day anyways.

My own bed gets made at some point during the day (I wfh) but for at least the mornings the cover is whipped all the way back to allow the bed to air.

We don't make beds...

I don't think we gave the same sort of life. I've never put a toothbrush away. It lives by the sink where it gets used. Why wouldn't the owner of the toothbrush put it where it lives? Are we supposed to hide people's toothbrushes? I don't have time for that.

No school run now but as I'm off to work, DH makes ours as he is last up and DS makes his own before he leaves which I then remake at lunchtime.

Teeth however - have upstairs toothbrushes for bedtime and downstairs toothbrushes for after breakfast. So they just stay by their respective sink.
