Unbelievable

GaroTheMushroom · 25/01/2024 18:36

I was following this at the time it was happening last year there was a very lengthy thread on here, seems we were right with our suspicions that she had several children already removed from her care. That poor baby didn’t stand a chance

Parsley1234 · 25/01/2024 18:38

5 children in 8 years just unbelievable every one taken into care what a total mess

DoveGreys · 25/01/2024 18:38

They’re both surely, clearly, mentally insane? Maybe evil as well, but there's got to be some level of insanity in there …

Heather37231 · 25/01/2024 18:40

Yes, there must be some sort of extreme mental health and perhaps coercive control going on here.

Meadowfinch · 25/01/2024 18:42

Hopefully, they will both be imprisoned for a sufficiently long time, that neither of them will get the chance to produce another child.

Disgusting creatures.

GaroTheMushroom · 25/01/2024 18:45

Oh god I hope they don’t get off for being “mentally unwell” 🙄

No they'll have a sentence worse than a finite prison term. Indefinite hospitalisation.

soupfiend · 25/01/2024 18:52

There were people sticking up for her on here. Shame on them

The rest of us knew the score from our experience of working with parents like this. Or just plain old common sense.

Plus stop with the 'coercive control' stuff.

Iwasafool · 25/01/2024 18:52

Poor baby.

RowanMayfair · 25/01/2024 18:52

Where does it say they killed her to keep her out of care?

They certainly attempted to keep her out of care but where does it say they killed her deliberately?

PringPring · 25/01/2024 18:53

All that money on taxis but not on warm baby clothes or blankets. 😢 That poor tiny baby. 😔

Five babies in eight years, all taken into care - how heartbreaking that they were the lucky ones.

Supersimkin2 · 25/01/2024 18:53

Ugh. Junkies?

I think it's classed as negligent manslaughter.

Hmmm any adult would know that keeping a newborn baby outside in a tent in the depths of winter with no access to medical care is at a minimum serious neglect.
Their actions quite clearly killed the poor little mite. Actions they took to keep her out of care for their own selfish reasons.

I think its more accurate to say they deprived the baby of medical care and care in order to keep her out of care

Placement orders have been made for the other children they had.

RowanMayfair · 25/01/2024 18:58

Yes I know the baby died because of their neglect and that they are responsible but allowing a baby to die due to neglect isn't the same as deliberately killing her to keep her out of care. I'm just asking for clarity as the OP has posted that with apparent quotation marks and I can't see where she's quoting it from.

murasaki · 25/01/2024 19:00

I think there was a religious cult that she spent time with a while ago. Whether that affected anything I don't know. The whole thing is appalling, poor baby.

CastleHunter · 25/01/2024 19:01

Everything I'm reading suggests they concealed the birth (a crime), were negligent parents for not seeking medical care or dressing or housing her appropriately (neglect, a crime), and for concealing a death (a crime). The commentary from the mum and others suggests this was all due to them wanting to keep "out of the system" and "off grid" and keep their child out of care. The parents come across as extremely arrogant and cold.

CastleHunter · 25/01/2024 19:02

The formal charge is "manslaughter by gross negligence"

It's the headline of the article.

She was carried about in a Lidl 'bag for life', they failed to protect her from the cold, failed to seek medical attention for her and generally killed her through their actions and inactions

Anyone with half a brain or heart would have seen their actions could be seriously detrimental to the baby's life/health

They certainly have concealed other pregnancies in the past so obviously have a belief system that doesnt include being part of the usual system of society. Fine for you as an individual adult, not fine for a baby.

DoveGreys · 25/01/2024 19:06

The fact that all the other children were taken into care suggests a serious prior issue of major negligence. Whether they were attempting to “avoid” this happening again seems hardly relevant. As proved by the outcome.

I think the poster is making the point that 'killed' usually means intended to kill.

So far, the accused are saying they found the baby dead rather than an intentional act of killing

However their actions were intentional and led to the babys death, and could be predicted really.
