London, so the least affected, in theory - but our gates and fences are rattling madly, and a couple of rubbish bins have gone rolling down the road

Stuck on a cross country train after my flight was cancelled.

Very delayed as it's had to go slow.

No food. Hungry. Bored.

Still got more than an hour to go 🥲

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 21/01/2024 21:56

London. Part of our fence is down. Neighbours fence is down too.

sorry to hear that. At least it sounds like the train is moving? I hope you get there quickly and safely

Neighbours have only just resurrected their fence after Henk. Its flapping around madly again.

North London. Hating it, I've never actually felt my house shake before in a storm. I'm really hoping there's no damage to fences or roof.

JanetareyouokareyouokJanet · 21/01/2024 22:04

It’s wild and getting worse!!! SE

MaMisled · 21/01/2024 22:05

Hampshire. My neighbour rang around 7pm to say hefty gazebo we put up as we're toilet training our puppy, was covering their lounge window! Wheelie bins are over along the street x rubbish barrelling down the road. I can see our wooden shed shaking and our 3 cats have squeezed behind the washing machine in fear. Scary.

DeltaCity · 21/01/2024 22:06

Medium to high winds at moment

apparentlyitsallinourheads · 21/01/2024 22:07

Our powers out and the energy company are saying mid day tomorrow earliest to fix it, last time we had a storm this bad it was out for four days so I'm not counting on it being on again any time soon

cloudtree · 21/01/2024 22:08

Very loud bang outside a few minutes ago but our outdoor lights are out so I have no idea what it was.

quizquiz · 21/01/2024 22:08

Surrey - Very loud and angry wind out there! Absolutely pouring down too, can hear things banging about it neighbours Gardens Confused

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 21/01/2024 22:09

A light breeze in South Wales.... although they have closed a section of the motorway nearby, so they must be expecting it to get worse.

lookofthelioness · 21/01/2024 22:09

Horrible here in the SE. Wheelie bin has gone over several times, moved them into the side porch. Big tree branch in our garden. The cat has his ears fully flattened.

I live in a terrace and it's always felt pretty sturdy, but the house is making lots of worrying noises. I won't be surprised if the gutters are down in the morning.

edwinbear · 21/01/2024 22:09

SE London snd it’s definitely windy, but not worryingly so. Y7 DD left for the Lake District this morning for a week long school residential, I think that will be interesting for them!

Jellykat · 21/01/2024 22:09

West Wales here, bloody scary, been watching my trees and barn roof closely!

WillYouPutYourCoatOn · 21/01/2024 22:11

Norfolk. Lashing against the windows. There's a watering can being thrown around the garden but I'm buggered if I'm going out there to get it.

Don't particularly want to go and see the aftermath in the morning, it sounds horrendous out there, I'm in deliberate blissful ignorance with the curtains shut.

Glad to hear your cats are in safe and warm

NE England here. My house sounds and feels like it's an ancient creaky wooden ship battling a storm on the high seas.

Jellykat · 21/01/2024 22:12

Oh and we only managed to get out yesterday afternoon after 3 days of being snowed in!

Tara336 · 21/01/2024 22:13

Dorset very wet and windy, DH in his wisdom put our bin out for collection tomorrow despite me saying its a bad idea bin is now on its side in the hedge and I'm struggling not to say I told you so after he bit my head off earlier

Gilead · 21/01/2024 22:14

NE. Pretty bad outside, some areas have lost power. I’ve taken to my bed as the noise is so awful I can’t hear the television properly.

SausageAndEggSandwich · 21/01/2024 22:16

It sounds apocalyptic out there (Devon)

Our house is in a bit of a wind tunnel anyway but it sounds really really loud

CeriB82 · 21/01/2024 22:16

1200 feet above sea level in snowdonia.

bit wet and windy.😂 few roads closed due to flooding, trees down, main bridge into anglesey is shut to all traffic.

sheep are sheltering and they are welsh mountain sheep so very hardy and they are fucked off!

rc22 · 21/01/2024 22:16

Yorkshire. Can hear it whistling around the house. Everything still looks intact outside so far.

FoleyHuck · 21/01/2024 22:18

Our home was badly damaged in Storm Ciaran so high winds make me very anxious now.

Thankfully the place we're staying while it's repaired is 'upside down' so the bedroom is on the ground floor and quite sheltered by a neighbouring property. It still sounds wild but not as bad as it does upstairs so I've been in bed an hour already.
