London, so the least affected, in theory - but our gates and fences are rattling madly, and a couple of rubbish bins have gone rolling down the road

North Yorkshire, it's blowing up here, sounds pretty wild outside.
I'm supposed to be out on site tomorrow, Rail industry, hopefully it'll be called off, really don't want to be out in it

SideshowAuntSallyx · 21/01/2024 22:34

South East and its a bit windy and raining but nothing we haven't seen before.

Every time the cat goes to go outside, I open the door and a gust of wind appears and she turns round and meows as if to say "sod it". She's done it about 10 times today 😂

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 21/01/2024 22:34

Edge of North yorkshire moors, bits of concrete stuff blown off roof, thank goodness Mr. Heaviest moved the car earlier as they landed on the driveway, ariel blown off roof, landed on lean to roof, now leaking. Next doors tree swaying alarmingly and taking the fence with it, sounds like roaring in the sky.

NeedWineNow · 21/01/2024 22:34

We’re in Kent. It’s sounding very wild out there and rain has been rattling against our front door - we’ve got a little terraced cottage where the front door opens straight onto the living room and at times it’s sounded as though the glass was going to come in. We’re glad to be tucked in the warm watching the telly!

AnneKipankitoo · 21/01/2024 22:35

Lights are flickering.
A tree was down on the Dundee to Perth Road near Longforgan earlier.
It is wild out there.

GoofyIsACow · 21/01/2024 22:36

NW England, we have no power. Bloody wild!

goingtohellinahandcart · 21/01/2024 22:36

Praying my horse is ok and that my stables don't blow away (Exmoor)..... Wish I could bring her into the house but obviously not an option!

Why not😀🐴?

PearlsAndPlants · 21/01/2024 22:37

Does anybody know what time it is meant to peak in Kent ? Feels so scary out there

Wanttobeok · 21/01/2024 22:38

South Yorkshire, bit of drizzle is all we have

shellyleppard · 21/01/2024 22:38

I'm in Derbyshire, high winds and very wet so far. No damage to the house but expecting to lose my wheelie bins at some point. The cats are upset as I wouldn't let them out..... despite them swinging off the door handle 🤔🤔😂❤️ hope everyone stays safe x

sprigatito · 21/01/2024 22:39

Just pissing rain in Exeter. Bit blowy, but nothing spectacular.

BigHoops · 21/01/2024 22:39

Glasgow. Sounds wild and the tornado threat is freaking me a bit but it's not the worst I've heard. But seems to be forecast to get worse before it gets better during the night so we will see!

DrunkenElephant · 21/01/2024 22:39

Nottinghamshire, it was absolutely wild from about 8pm - my house felt like it was shaking. It seems to be calming down now thankfully.

Im sorry for all those who are anxious or have anxious pets, could the radio or TV on low volume help?

Ha, my cat really wants to go out but when I open the door for her she sits there, gets a bit of rain on her face and then legs it back inside.

She's definitely unsettled though. Gone to sleep downstairs where it's quieter. West Cornwall here, thought it had gone through but just had some massive gusts. I don't expect my fence will survive, it's on its last legs.

BlackeyedSusan · 21/01/2024 22:40

It's quieter tonight than other windy days... depends which way wind is blowing and which buildings we are behind.

BirthdayRainbow · 21/01/2024 22:43

We've got rain now too. Dog has settled a bit. Kent.

MiniPumpkin · 21/01/2024 22:43

Scotland . Pretty grim. I’ve taken refuge under the covers. planes at Edinburgh snd Glasgow unable to land and diverting down south

Loafbeginsat60 · 21/01/2024 22:43

North highlands here. We live on the top of a hill so I've been expecting the worst but so far just breezy 😬

Let's see what the night brings

PriscillaQueenOfTheDesserts · 21/01/2024 22:45

Kent- horrendous winds, the house feels like it's shaking, it keeps catching my door knocker which in turn sets my dog off barking. My cat is in her travel basket which is under the bed
Bins flying down the end of the road, intermittent bangs and crashes, a car alarm going off

Garman · 21/01/2024 22:45

West coast of Ireland, absolutely wild out.

Ginmonkeyagain · 21/01/2024 22:45

SE London, so in the only part of the UK not under an amber warning and it is blowing an absolute hooley out there.

Our local trains were all cancelled a few hours ago due to something blowing on the track and a train hitting it.

The wind is fucking with our outside security lights as they keep flicking on randomly.

Got the fright of my life earlier when an (thankfully rather flimsy) empty plastic plant pot smacked against my kitchen window ..... I am on the third floor.

Currently eyeballing the very tall and rickety tree opposite our kitchen that our twat neighbours refuse to trim or cut back.

You are hardcore! 😂

Im in Notts too (south) and its got worse over past hour.

My pups are frightened 😞

Adarajames · 21/01/2024 22:46

London / Kent border here, top of North Downs without much from direction wind coming in to protect us (open fields behind us), and it’s often more windy here than other places locally, but it’s REALLY loud out there tonight, and I’m slightly nervous of the massive oak tree that’s close enough it will wipe us out if it falls, we lost a similar one the other side of the garden in storm couple years back, so makes me nervous, hopefully just be a few branches on the ground come morning.
