I worked with a man who had an unspecified blood disorder many years ago. A couple of years ago he was with other men on local news and I realised he was one of the people affected by the blood scandal. I know it shouldn’t matter but he was one of the loveliest people I ever worked with, did so, so much for the community and to think he is one of the people the government just want to shut up and die before they have to pay compensation was abhorrent then. And still is. I don’t even know if he’s still alive, but if he’s not, his widow should be paid and soon. Like the 91 yr old ex postmistress on the News said the other evening, “Now. Now would be good”.

They’ll hate anyone if it suits their purposes. Apart from Duffield who they’ve canonised and I imagine they’re really cross with her for sticking with Labour.

An undercurrent with Lammy and Abbott posters is always race. Ideas above their station.

What I don't get about Duffield is that actually the fact that she is still in Labour suggests they accept a broad church of views (as do the Tories on this issue to be fair).

Her retweet about gender reassigned people during the Nazi regime was actually imo abhorrent and she didn't get any more than a mild telling off.

She has had the good grace and common sense to remain silent on it but lots of her supporters keep bringing it up. Looking at what just happened in Hackney that could be to ehr detriment, although Hackney and Canterbury are very different places, perhaps luckily for her.

I missed that, did it follow him interviewing a government minister and Rajan challenging their lies?

No, it was just about University Challenge but it was do vicious. There have also been horrific threads and posts about trans contestants so certain quarters have it in for UC and also Only Connect.

Somehow missed this. The government are planning to criminalise rough sleeping and find the homeless up to £2500 or put them in prison.

Can’t help feeling that the money spent on prosecuting this might be better spent on finding them somewhere to live.

I think you are mistaken.

Just last week at the golf club my friend was telling me of an acquaintance of their's whose aunt's father in law knows someone whose long deceased nephew saw a homeless person getting into a Tesla after their shift was over and they then drove it to their Club in Pall Mall.

You should start a thread in AIBU on that. Some would take it seriously and share their own made up stories experiences.

This is depressingly accurate.

No doubt using the court system where there are currently delays amounting to years in defended cases coming to trial. So I'm sure that's going to go very well indeed.
