A coffee table would improve things.

I think it might be a bit big for the space

PaminaMozart · 02/01/2024 14:39

I'd get rid of the wallpaper and get a much smaller, patterned rug

ShirleyPhallus · 02/01/2024 14:39

It looks very crinkly

Tbh though, I’m personally not a fan of such a limited colour palette - you’ve decorated the whole room in 3 colours, it would look much softer to add some other colours in. Needs more furniture too - a coffee table would work well

WelshNerd · 02/01/2024 14:41

Rug should be under the sofa. Round or oval coffee table.

The pile does look odd though. Maybe this will improve if it's brand new out of packaging.

Maybe that's it

Move it more under the sofa in both directions - backwards and leftwards. Will look much better. Also get coffee table and maybe a pouffe or floor cushion to soften things and break up the block colour.

RJnomore1 · 02/01/2024 14:44

Turn it the other way and put it under the sofa. It will look much better.

Yeah maybe I don't really like having coffee tables I like the floor area clear. But you might be right

PuddleEyes · 02/01/2024 14:46

Put it under the sofa a bit so it's more part of the room and add a side table, coffee table and some cushions. Your dog is camouflaged to the colour scheme!

I like the wallpaper it's only been up a few months

It's too big, I would try it under the sofas right up to the wall

Changingplace · 02/01/2024 14:46

I think it needs to be pulled under the sofa & away from the wall, and agree a coffee table or maybe a big plant near the window?

You need something to break up the big chunks of colour.

MooQuackNeigh · 02/01/2024 14:46

It lines up to the sofa too closely. Try tucking it under the sofas on both sides by a foot or so. A coffee table would be a good help agreed.

WolfFoxHare · 02/01/2024 14:47

Yeah it might be a bit too big - can you push more of it under the sofa at the end so it doesn’t stick out so far into the room?

Yeah it's only just been taken out

That's a good idea . I didn't really want it under the sofa though . Asci can't move ot on my own and I need to be able ti move the rug to clean etc . But it might be only thing I can do really

steppemum · 02/01/2024 14:56

you either need a much small er rig which is framed by the lines of the edge of the sofa, or you need to move this one under th sofa in both directions so it sits in the middle of the room (equal distances from the walls) instead of pushed over to one side as it is now.

I don't think it is the best colour though. It clashes with the flooring underneath, and it is a very large block of one colour. I would look at one colour but with texture, or a self pattern so that it isn;t such a flat one colour look.

It looks very warm and cosy though!

Sharrilanda · 02/01/2024 14:57

“you’ve decorated the whole room in 3 colours”

Even the gorgeous dog matches 👌🏻😂

OP, adding a coffee table will help break things up a bit.

cloudtree · 02/01/2024 15:00

The front feet of your furniture should be on your rug. If not, it will never look right. So it needs to move both backwards towards the wallpapered wall and to the left away from the window. You also need a coffee table.

JoyOdell123 · 02/01/2024 15:02

It’s far too big

minipie · 02/01/2024 15:04

You don’t need to be able to move the rug to clean do you? You hoover the rug and the floor around it.
