Couldn't see a recent thread showcasing Christmas tat for sale and I just had to share this - described as a Christmas Shrimp.

I had no idea a Christmas Shrimp was a thing Grin

Mrgrinch · 17/12/2023 12:04

Ooh I love these threads! I haven't seen any this year but I particularly enjoy the ones containing food that's clearly been touched and you have no idea by whom or under what conditions.

isthismylifenow · 17/12/2023 12:06

😂 That looks a bit obscene.

I haven't seen it this year, but there is usually a thread on the ebay monstrosity that goes up every year. Iirc it was the 12 days Christmas theme.

porn prawn just made me think of this as it was equally monstrous 😂

Love these threads! Nothing to share sadly but following for the comedy gold that usually ensues.

Now Mumsnet has mentioned the eBay 12 days of Christmas monstrosity, I officially feel festive. Thank you.

isthismylifenow · 17/12/2023 12:16

My festive season feels are now complete 😂. It's not Christmas time until we have seen the 12 days of Christmas offering. Still includes the spelling errors too.

😀

DyslexicPoster · 17/12/2023 12:19

They are do well selling their monstrosity. They clear need to contact Stacey Solomon on every level for some gentle help decluttering and tastful decorating.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 17/12/2023 12:30

Why buy a poinsettia table decoration for £ 90 (seriously, how much????) when you can buy a few real ones and don't have them cluttering up the place for the next year?

TragicMuse · 17/12/2023 12:31

SWAN HUNTING IS HARD WORK.

Oh my goodness, that is beautiful and ridiculous and priceless. I love it!

It's so special. When I click on the listing, it says three people have watched it in the last 24 hours. Please tell me this is in an ironic/WTF way not genuine buyers?!

One of those watchers is a friend of mine after I sent her the link, and it’s definitely in a ‘Wtf?!’ Way!

housethatbuiltme · 17/12/2023 13:33

Nothing fascinatingly weird but someone was attempting to selling their homemade loom band bracelets as stocking fillers for £2.50 with £2.99 p&p and I did think 'WTF are they smoking'.

Whose paying £5.49 for a few rubber bands that the local shop sells for 20p than anyone can make, advertising it along side real costume jewellery that was selling cheaper lol.

sep135 · 17/12/2023 13:34

I think it's the third year running, at least. Inflation has helped our crafty friend although I suspect not enough to result in an actual sale

Whataretheodds · 17/12/2023 13:35

I want a basket of those sent to the OP on the bag of prawns/beef leftovers thread. How can I arrange this?

Mplpurple · 17/12/2023 13:37

What @Whataretheodds said.

whatausername · 17/12/2023 13:39

What is it even made of!?

rorret · 17/12/2023 14:10

That's not a pear tree.

<misses point>

viques · 17/12/2023 14:40

I love that one of the myriad courses in the splendid repast was a glass of milk. Honestly, those chefs on the Great British Menu don’t have a clue about how to present a real feast do they?

glittercunt · 17/12/2023 14:43

I want the prawn.

I get obscene, stupid, weird, inappropriate and unique baubles etc every year.

I'm one of those types who has clitletoe hanging on the tree, and a vulva.

Datdamndamp · 17/12/2023 14:55

Ach, when you really want to Google clitletoe and obscene baubles but daren't ...

I was just thinking about the 12 days of Christmas and if it would make a reappearance.

CaravaggiosCat · 17/12/2023 15:17

12 days of Christmas has been in my Ebay watch list for a couple of years now...🤣🤣.
Definitely as a wtf 🤭

Zebracat · 17/12/2023 15:18

Oh dear. I just made a wreath and hung it on the front door. I thought it looked rustic but now I know it’s just shit. If only I had a few Christmas prawns to give it that festive edge.

I'd be gutted if anyone ever did buy this it's like a Christmas tradition now

I’ve had it on my watchlist for a long time, just so that it is easy to find when I want to show someone. The utter madness of it always makes me chuckle - £699! 🤣.
Was telling someone about it just last night. Came to add it to the thread but several people already beat me to it. I agree with the pp above who said it’s not Christmas until this turns up on mumsnet - am feeling festive now! 😁
