Couldn't see a recent thread showcasing Christmas tat for sale and I just had to share this - described as a Christmas Shrimp.

I bloody love the Christmas shrimp!
Remember...there were lobsters st the birth of baby jesus! Duh!

And an octopus. It says so in Love Actually so it must be true.

WhatICallMyUsername · 17/12/2023 21:05

@RainbowZebraWarrior who knows! It just says hand made light up Christmas ornament! Not actually sure where it lights up (unless it means his pipe 🤣)

I think that item probably has 300 watchers, all from Mumsnet.

It happens every Christmas after it's appeared on here, and just think how excited he must get: "THIS is THE year it's going to SELL!!!!"

On the other thread someone suggested googling his ebay username and called it a rabbit hole. They weren't wrong, but frankly it's a bit disturbing ...

Why has the Christmas shrimp got a butterfly's tongue?

To put the place card in!

MadCatLady27 · 17/12/2023 21:21

Is it bad I actually think the Christmas shrimp is quite sweet 😂

If you Google it, you can watch it dance.

Rattenbury · 17/12/2023 21:23

I rather like the shrimp!

sep135 · 17/12/2023 21:40

Nothing says Christmas like a £123 inflatable dinosaur in front of the telly...

purplecheesecat · 17/12/2023 21:43

I actually can’t stop laughing at this one!

Siha345 · 17/12/2023 21:46

Oh that’s a type of Christmas dinosaur I haven’t seen before! Nearly all of these things are abominations and I hate love them. Maybe gonks are marmitey but I think they all look quite good! Also really love the Christmas frog even though he is absolutely pointless, even the shrimp has a purpose. Everything else is made by absolute chancers and I admire their confidence

I'm so confused. What are in the pockets? Is it Christmas tampons? Christmas bullets?

I’ve seen bullet ( coloured casings with brass) casing wreaths , and they were beautifully made, sadly I don’t have a photograph., At a craft fair some years ago, lots of bullet themed things for sale.
Not something I’d want but for the shooting fishing people, must have been a market for them.
They were beautifully made to be honest.

I also think those macrame angels were nicely made.

Not something I have, but I know very talented lady who makes macrame, including a fabulous industrial lamp on a rope of macrame.
They are pretty expensive, take a lot of work, and have graced magazines.

In fairness, it transcends the tat category but spotted while trawling through FB marketplace... who would like to receive a scratch off 100 positions of the karma sutra poster?

So many questions, does one have to scratch them off in strict numerical order? Or more of a buffet approach? And 61, 93, 96 and 100 look mighty similar but perhaps that's for the best?

I was trying to find this beauty but stumbled across this instead 🤣

I ordered one of these for my sister last year and just received a second one the other day to give to her for Christmas 😍

I quite like the Christmas Frog.

IncompleteSenten · 17/12/2023 22:02

The 12 days thing could have been a marketing masterpiece.
It never sells and every year it gets linked to far and wide.

If that was me, I'd make full use of it. I'd sell lots of perfectly normal and good things and enjoy the free marketing every year. Because I bet lots of people click on the seller's other items, wondering if there are more monstrosities. If they found a shop full of good stuff reasonably priced then the seller could potentially rake it in.
