'Reprieve for Christmas' says Beth Rigby.

Cornettoninja · 12/12/2023 19:33

Fuck me. So this is how it feels to live in a country run by people who will go down in history as maniacs.

fuck these arse holes. Why even bother with the pretence of voting, just do what you want and go full dictator. That’s what they want, just fucking do it.

IClaudine · 12/12/2023 19:30

Sunak will be happy, the tosser.

Not for long.

IClaudine · 12/12/2023 19:36

Hopefully @Notonthestairs

It is so depressing. Heartless bastards.

AdamRyan · 12/12/2023 19:37

All the tossing around for 20 abstentions, just a load of hot air. And now we get to do it all again in the NY, yippee
I am most annoyed by the One Nation lot. They need to grow a fucking backbone and stop the government being held hostage by the right wing loons. Maybe show a bit of humanity at the same time.

Me too, utterly spineless & devoid of humanity they make me sick to my stomach.

IClaudine · 12/12/2023 19:41

It all seems extra awful given the suicide on the barge today. You would have thought that might have given some of them pause for thought about the fact this is about real people and real lives.

BIossomtoes · 12/12/2023 19:46

They don’t care about him @IClaudine. He doesn’t even register as a human being to them.

I guess it’s up to the Lords now.

I wonder who thought up that name?

Am I not right in thinking that it didn't actually end well for the 5 families in The Godfather?

Probably a daft question but could Labour overturn change or stop this hopefully when they form a government?

Yes. And imagine how successful it would be as an election promise.

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/12/2023 20:06

Thank
Fuck
For
That.

I was worried Sunak would lose the vote. But. he didn't. He won and will now lead the Tories to the GE.Grin

tobee · 12/12/2023 20:14

All this bullshit from the "5 families" or whatever stupid names they call themselves it's a wonder the Tories ever win elections. So yes, as @AdamRyan says it's the One Nation wankers that push them over the line; fuck any integrity just go for the win.

Who's going to be playing Michael Corleone? 🐴 🛌

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/12/2023 20:20

One step closer to becoming law, scary.

I'm not scared. It's such a poorly thought out and written piece of legislation that it'll never get through the HoLs before the Tories are out on their hole next year. Its such a load of bollocks that they're already implementing a Plan B.

In the meantime, we can all look forward to PM Sunak bending over backwards and turning himself inside out to deliver what he promised his MPs in return for their vote on the most useless, pointless shite ever.Grin

ffsrainagain · 12/12/2023 20:21

To think my waste of space, bottom of the barrel MP was flown all the way back from the COP summit, to fly all the way back tomorrow or whenever just to vote and back Rishi et al....Never thought much to him anyway but think even less of him now!

Roussette · 12/12/2023 20:28

What a surprise ... my horrible MP voted Aye

LlynTegid · 12/12/2023 20:31

Circus is not the word I would use. Circuses treat animals with respect where they have them. The death in the barge off the coast at Portland and the Rwanda bill are treating (or intending to treat) humans in ways that would never be acceptable for animals.

It was quite depressing to hear the air time this morning about the plan. Radio 4 Today interviewed Keir Starmer and this was the main topic of conversation.

We are going into another NHS winter. The cost of living crisis exists.

But this is the main conversation

TokyoSushi · 12/12/2023 21:01

That's 40% on top of inflation.

Thanks Duncin.

I sometimes wish Cooper was Labour leader.

Absolutely.

She's brilliant and never falters when she speaks.
