The number of MPs currently on suspension for varieties of possibly criminal dodginess might suggest it's not a great time to trash the legal profession. Many of them will be looking for representation, hopefully very soon. Best to remember your manners politicos.

The Home Office has now put out a (further) clarification on the timeline of this increase to the minimum income threshold (after backlash from right-wing Tories).

The minimum income threshold will rise to £38,700 by spring 2025.

That makes Labour's position even more important

Oh for Gods sakes - they rushed through this policy to try to keep Jenrick and pals onside. Judging from the immediate flurry of questions & conflicting answers they didn't know what the fuck they were doing and thrashed about.

What happened to long term decisions etc.

Have any of you ever sat on a committee for a small charitable organisation? The petty squabbles. The obsessive correction of occasional minor typographic errors in the minutes. Factions forming into fighting units. It's what this feckless, useless government reminds me of. Not fit to run the village flower show comes to mind. And wheres that petty cash tin? It was here a moment ago.

Tories should be careful - especially any Tory MP who is a lawyer and who wants to become PM.

They should also be defending the legal profession - but I guess many seem to have lost their moral compass

I doubt some of them ever had a moral compass or even know what one looks like.

The thing about moral compasses is that they are often frequented by woke eating tofus.

Rishi was spotted buying mince pies for key workers on his way back to Richmond. I’m sure they’d rather have a payrise.

Booths donate a considerable number of mince pies to organisations such as Scouts for Christmas fairs etc. So I also hope it was Booths and they charged him for them.

I hope they charged him double and made a donation to charity, he wouldn’t notice.

I think he got 6 boxes. That is not many mince pies per key worker. We may get a crumb each.
