To think that civil servants are useless?

I mean, they couldn't even set out Sunak's five pledges without a typo. It was obviously meant to be Slowing the Economy, not Growing the Economy.

Anyway, well done to our Rishi! for meeting one of his pledges.

I know you’re probably being tongue in cheek, but it’s really tedious hearing this rhetoric constantly.

UnaOfStormhold · 22/12/2023 10:04

I suspect that slogan has a lot more to do with Ministers and special advisers than civil servants.

It must be hard for political titans like Johnson, Truss and Sunak - if only the economy would stop being so negative about all their great ideas!

Of course I am! I am taking the pee out a government that never accepts blame for anything.

I wonder how they will deflect from today's unwelcome news.

You might want to read my opening post more carefully!

It is twat, btw. Not twatt. Proves my point about civil servants and typos? 😁

🤣 Your joke went over my head in much the same way as mine seems to have gone over other people's!

I wonder if Sunak will say anything about today's news, or will he ignore it?

You're so right OP. Those pesky civil servants messing things up for poor government ministers.

Eve · 22/12/2023 11:12

its because they are all woke snowflake lefties.

IClaudine · 22/12/2023 11:23

I feel very sorry for Sunak et al. Their pledges all messed up through no fault of their own, poor loves. I hope they have a well earned break at Christmas, they so deserve it.
